THE CITY A PERMIT FROM THE TEXAS MEEXICAN
RAILWAY COMPANY FOR THE RIGHT TO PLACE A
ROAD CROSSING OVER SAID RAILitiAY COjWANY'S
TRAM NEAR VIRGINIA STREET DT THE CITY
OF CORPUS CHRISTI; AND DECLARING AN
EXERGLNCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUN03 -L OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager is hereby authorized and
directed for end on behalf of the City to out. end aooept a permit
from The Texas Mexican Railway Company granting the City the right to
Construct a road Crossing over the railway tracks of said Railway
Company near Virginia Street, a copy of such permit being attached
hereto and made a part hereof for all pertinent purposes.

Your request for a road crossing over our tracks near
Virginia Street in the City of Corpus Christi is hereby granted
with the understanding that this crossing will be made in lieu of
the present crossing at Cheyene Street which is to be abandoned
and that the same warning signs used at Cheyene Street will be
used at the Virginia Street crossing.
It is also understood that this crossing will be made at
no cost to The Texas Mexican Railway Company other than surfacing
track between the rails.
Please advise when you will make this crossing so we can
renew any bad ties and surface the track.
If the above meets with your approval, please sign in
space provided in lower left hand corner of this letter and
return two copies to this office.

SECTION 2. The neoessity for securing permits in order to
make road crossings over railmay tracks within the City in order "to
better traffic facilities creates a public emergency and public impera-
tive necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordi-
nance or resolution shall be passed finally on the data it is introduced
and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several
meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such
publio emergenoy and imperative necessity exist, and having requested
that such Charter rule be suspended, and that this ordinance be passed
finally on the data of its introduation end take effect and be in full
force and effect from and after Us passage, IT IS ACCORDIIdGLY SO ORDAIRID.

For the reasons set forth in the emergency Clause of the
foregoing ordinance, a public emergency end imperative necessity
exist for the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that
no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it
is introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read
at three meeting of the City Council; I, therefore, hereby request
that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this
ordinance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present
meeting of the City C—oil.
