That the proposition to grant the said franchise to Houston Natural Gas Corporation was sustained by a majority of the qualified electors voting at said election and the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, is hereby authorized to grant said franohise to Houston Natural Gas Corporation in aocordsnoe with said proposition. SECTION 2. The necessity for providiAg adequate gas faoilities for the citizens of the City and the necessity for procuring a long tern supply of gas for the City creates a p blip emergenoy and an i, perativo pblio neoessity requiring the suspension of the Charter Rule providing that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and requiring that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, end the Mayor having deolarod that such public emergency and imperative publio necessity sxists, and having requested that said Charter Rule be suspended, and that this ordinance take effect and be in full force and eEfeat from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY So ORD=TED.
