SECTIO'_I 1. That GraLuance No. 21778 passed and approved by the City
Council on the lst day of ILarch, 1949, is hereby expressly repealed, and is
to be of no further force and effect.
SECTION 2. That the work of constructing repairs to the Stilling
Basin and north Channel Bank of Lake Corpus Christi Dam, having been performed
and completed in accordance ,ith the terms and crcrisions of the contract and
the plans and specifications thorein contained, said contract having been
entered into by and betwesn the City of Corpus Christi and J. W. Dellinger,
Inc., on the 224th day of December, A. D. 1948, and the Director of Public
;forks iv:,vinE inspected the sax° and certified to the completion of said work
in accordance Leith said plans and specifications, and said work aforesaid is
hereby Sound to have been completed in accordance -with the plans and specifi-
cations and is here now accepted and received by the City Council of the City
of Corpus Christi, Texas. -
SECTION 3. That final payment under the contract in the stmm of
Twenty -twc Thousand Di =io Hundred and Eighty -one Dollars and Fitts -eight Cents
( 622,281.58) be made in accordance with the terms of such contract and in
accordance with the final estimate of the Director of Public : +orks dated
March 3, 1949, such payment to be made from Vlaterworks Revenue Bonds Series
194s-A Construction Fund.
SECTION 4. The necessity for making improvements and repairs to
the Stilling Basin and Dem at Lake Corpus Christi creates a public emergency
and public imperative necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule
that no ordinance er resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is
introduced and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three
several meetings of the City Council, and the 3 "ayor raving declared that
such public emergency and imperative necessity oxist, and havin; requested
that such Charter rule be suspended, and that this ordinance be passed
finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force
and effect from and after its passage, IT 15 ACCO -RDINGLY 80 OP,DADIED.
