SAID ALLEY; AND DECLARING AN .EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, Notice of the hearing on application for the closing of an alley extending through Block 5 in'Steele Addition to the City of Corpus Christi has been given by publication and by registered mail to the last ]norm addresses ofall owners abutting said alley and within 4508 feet thereof, and thereafter pursuant to said Notice, to-wit: on the 22nd day of March, 1949, a Public Nearing was held by the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, in accordance with the provisions of Section 6, Article 2 of the City Charter; and, WHEREAS, it has been duly determined by the City Council after such Public Hearing that the alley extending through a portion of Block 5 of the Steele Addition to the City of Corpus Christi is of no use to the City nor the public and that it will be to the advantage of the City to have said alley closed. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEAS: SECTION 1. That the alley extending through that portion of Block 5 of the Steele Addition to the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, abutting and adjoining Lots 5 to 17 inclusive and Lots 46 to 58 inclusive in said Block 5 be closed for public use and that title to same be relinquished to abutting property owners an said alley. SECTION P. The fact that public convenience and necessity will be better served by the closing of the alley set out in Section 1 of this ordinance creates a public emergency and public imperative necessity re- quiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced and that such ordinance a�'- or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the 29ayor having declared that such public emergency and imperative necessity exist, and having requested that such Charter rule be suspended, and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, TT L4 ACCOMMIGLLY So ORDAINED.
