CBRISTI, TEXAS.
SECTION I. That the City P.Terager is hereby authorized and
directed to execute in the name of the City and to deliver to the South-
western Fell Telephone Company a contract betc..een the City and said
Company for telephone services, said contract being substantially as

In the event that the equipment, facilities or service described above is
terminated within the minimum service period of 60 months, the undersigned
customers or its assigns, agrees to pap to the .Telephone Company termination
charges equal to $7100.00 reduced by 1/60 for each month service is retained,
with the Proportionate reductions for fractional portions of a month.

If engineering, manufacturing or installation work once begun is stopped and
the Installation is not completed at the customer,® request, the customer agrees
to Pay the cost incurred, including removal of the equipment, in lieu of the
above termination charges.

(2) By Paying the cost of making the change in location, the said cost
to include the cost of removing all of the equipment from the old location and
the cost of installing the equipment at the now location. In such cases the
contract period will not be affected. Service connection charges as stated in
the "Service Connection Charges" section of the tariff, if any, will however,
be applied to all additional trunks and stations Installed at the new location.
(3) The above option will also be granted in connection with moves from
one premises to another.

SECTION 2. The fact that it is necessary to modernize the
telephone installations in the City Hall and the various departmental
offices of the City of Corpus Christi, and that such modernization should
be completed as soon as practicable creates a public emergency and public
imperative necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no
ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is intro-
duced and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several
meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such
public emergency and imperative necessity exist, and having requested that
such Charter rule be suspended, and that this ordinance be passed finally
on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and
effect from and after its passage, IT 15 ACCORDINGLY SO OIMLIEED.

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the fore-
going ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist For
the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or
resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and
that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three meetings of
the City Council; 1, therefore, hereby request that you suspend said
Charter Rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally on the date
it is introduced, or at the present meetinC, of the City Ce-uncil.
