AMENDING AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED "AN
ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE REGM,
ATION AND LICENSING OF STUDIO PHOTO-
GRAPHERS AND ITINERANT PHOTOGRAPHERS;
PRESCRIBING RULES AND REGULATIONS,
AND DEFINING CERTAIN OFFENSES; AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY," AND BEING
ORDINANCE N0. 509, PASSED BY THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
Txw. ON THE 30TH DAY OF JANUARY,
1935, BY CHANGING SECTION 6 THEREOF TO
PROVIDE A PENALTY FOR Tjz VIOLATION OF
THE PROVISICNS OF SECTION 5 THEREOF, AND
DECLARM AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI.
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That Section 6 of Ordinance No. 509, passed by the
City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, Teases on the 30th dry of
January, 1935, and entitled: "An Ordinance providing for the regulation
and licensing of studio photographers and itinerant photographers; pre-
scribing rules and regulations, and defining certain offenses, and de-
claring an emergency" be amended by adding thereunto the following words:
"Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of Section
5 shall be fined not more than Two Hundred Dollars (200.00), and such viol-
ation shall be deemed good and sufficient cause for the revocation by the
City Secretary of the itinerant photographerts license of such person, firm
or corporation without the giving of such notice as is required by Section
hereof."
SECTION 2. The fact that Section 5 of Ordinance No. 509
is rendered ineffectual by the absence of provisio=presari.bing the
psnaltry for the violation thereof creates a public emergency and im-
perative public necessity requiring a suspension of the Charter rule
providing that no Ordinance or Resolution shall be passed finally on
the day it is introduced, and that such Ordinance or Resolution shall
be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor
having declared that such public emergency and imperative public
necessity exists, and having requested that said Charter rule be sue*
pended and that this Ordinance be passed finally on the date it is in-
troduoed, and that this Ordinance take effect and be in full fordo and
effect from and after its passage, it is so ordained.

Gentlemen:
Fort he reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the fore-
going Ordinance, a public emergency end an imperative necessity exist
for the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no Ord-
inate or Resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is intro -
duoed, and that such Ordinance or Resolution shall be read at three
several meetings of the City Council, I, therefore, hereby request
that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this Ord-
issues finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meet-
ing of the City Council.
