AND RESOLUTION RECORDS OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, AND AS AMENDED FROM TIME TO TIME THEREAFTER, AND IN PARTICULAR AS AVENDED BY ORDINANCE NO. 22�66, PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL ON THE 4TR DAY OF NAY, 1948, AND APPEARING OF RECORD 13 VOLms 16, PAGES 339 ET SEQ OF THE ORDINANCE AND RESOLUTION RECORDS OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI BY AMENDING THE ZONING NAP APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL ON MAY b, 1948, IN THE PARTICULARS HEREIN SET FORTH; PROVIDING THAT ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH ARE HEREBY REPEALED; AND DE- CLARING AN EMERGENCY. 9RLEBEAS, the Zoning and Planning Commission of the City of Corpus Christi has recommended to the City Council of said City that it is advisable to make the hereinafter set out changes in the present Zoning Ordinance and the Zoning Map of the City of Corpus Christi; and, WHEREAS, the City Council at its regular meeting, ordered a Public Hearing to be held on the 19th day of July, 1949, at 4:06 o'clock P. M.; and, WHEREAS, proper notice of said hearing was published in the mamier provided by law; and, WHEREAS, the City Council did on the 19th day of July, 1949, hold such hearing, where all interested oitizene, property o:mers, and other parties had the opportunity to be heard on the proposed amendments, and that at such hearing all parties interested and wishing to be heard were heard; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TESA.S: SECTION 1. That the Zoning Ordinance and Map of the City of Corpus Christi passed on the 27th day of August, 1937: appearing in volume 9, at Pages 565 et seq of the Ordinance and Resolution Records of the City of Corpus Christi, and as emended from time to time, and in particular me amended by Ordinance No. 2266 passed and approved by the City Council of said City on the 4th day of May, 1948, and appearing in Volume 16, Pages 339 at_seq of the Ordinance and Resolution Records of said City be amended as follows: _ asst A. Brownlee Boulevard and as shout by map or plat on file in the office of the County Clark of Noeoes County, Texas, be and the aame is hereby re- soned from "R -2" Two Psmily Dwelling District Use to "B-3" Seoondary.Business District Use. 9. That the following described tract of land located in the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, to -witt Lot 1, Block 2, Crockett Heights Addition to the City of Corpus Christi, Taxes, being that property located at the northeast corner of Belton and McArthur Streets and as shown by map or plat on file in the office of the County Clerk of Mosses County, Texas, be and the same is hereby rezoned from "R -1" One Family Dwelling District Use to "B -1" Neighborhood Business District Use. SECTION 2. That the official Zoning Map of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, be and the same is hereby amended as herein ordained. SECTION 3. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in con - fliat herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION Ly. That the said Zoning Ordinance and Map of the City of Corpus Christi, approved on the 4th day of May, 1948, as amended from time to time, except as herein changed shall remain in full force and effect. SECTION 5. The fact that it is of the greatest public importance to put in force immediately the changes in the Zoning Ordinance and Map as hereinabove provided, for the purpose of providing for the orderly and progressive growth of the City, and the necessary protection of the lives, health, property and welfare of the citizens creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter Rule providing that no ordinance or resolution be passed finally on the date it is introduced and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three (3) several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor, having de- olared that such public emergency and such imperative public necessity exist, requests that said Charter Rule be suspended, and that this Ordi- nance take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its pass- age and after its publication one time as is provided and required by the Charter of the City of Corpus Christi, AND IT IS SO ORDAINED. Texas Citr orney Corpus Christi, Texas 1949 TO TTY 'MMRR3 OF THE CITY COUNCIL Corpus Christi, Texas Gentlemen, For the reasons set forth in the emergency olause of the foregoing ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspension of the Charter rule or re- quirement that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that suoh ordinance or resolut- ion shall be read at three meetings of the City Council; I, there- fore, hereby request that you suspend said Charter rule or re- quirement and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is intro- duced, or at the present meeting of the City Counoil.
