BE IT rmn►ruan BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEM. SECTION 1. That the work of oonatruction of a gymnasium building in Ben Garza Park in the City of Corpus Christ's, Texas, performed by Slovak Brothers, having been performed and completed in accordance with the terms and provisions of the contract and the plans and specifications therein containeds said contract having been entered into by and between the City and Slovak Brothers on the let day of February, 1910. and the Director of Public Works having inspected the some end certified to the completion of said work in accordance with said plane and specifications, and said work' aforesaid is hereby, found to have been completed it accordance with the plans and specifications and is here now accepted and received by the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, SECTION 2. That final payment due under the contract and as set out in the final estimate prepared by the Director of Public Works dated August 5, 1949, in the sum of Fifteen Thousand, Sixty-nine Dollars and Eleven Cents ($15,069.11) be made in accordance with the terms of such contract and that such payment be made from No. 295 Improvement Bonds, 19118 Construction Fund (park Improvements). SECTION 3. The necessity for providing the citizens of Corpus Christi with a gymmasiva in Ben Garza Park creates a public emergency and public imperative necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on thedate it is introduced and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such public emergency and imperative necessity exist, and having requested that such Charter rule be suspended, and that this ordinance be passed a5�5 finally cm the date Of it- introduction end take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its paessge. OF THE CITY COUNCIL Corpus Christi, Texas Gentlemen: For the reasons set fotth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, end that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three meetings of the City Council, 1, therefore, hereby re- quest that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
