AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY ARAM, FOR AND ON
BEHALF OF THE CITY, TO PURCHASE 1.01 ACRES OF LAND
LOCATED ON GOLLIHAR ROAD FROM MRS. VUSB SIMM FOR
THE SUM OF #2,500.00 GABS, AND TITLE MWENSE; AUTHCR-
IZING AND DIRECTING THE SAID CITY MANAGER TO ESECOTE
THE NECESSARY CONTRACTS AND &NSTRUNENTS TO COMPLETE
THE PURCHASE OF THE AFORESAID LANDS PROVIDING THAT
PAYMM FORT HE PURCHASE OF THE SAME SHALL BE PAID
FROM NO. 298 CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI W&TER NOW CCH-
STRUCTION FORD; AND DECLARING AN MORMCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMM OF TER CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TMUSt -
SECTION I. That the City Manager is hereby authorized and
directed, for and on behalf of the City to purchase the following described
land situated in Nusces County, Tamest
A tract of land containing 1.01 acres situated on
Gollibar Road in Nueoss County, Texas, and described as
follows, to -wits
Beginning at a point on the center line of the
Chapman Ranch Road at a point 20 feet south of the inter-
section of the center lines of Gollihar Road and Chapman
Ranch Read, said point being on an extension of the south
boundary line of Gollihar Road; thence is a northwesterly
direction along the said southern boundary line of Golli-
har Road 375 feet from the center of the Chapman Ranch
Road to a point for the seats= corner of this tract;
thenos at right angles in a southwesterly direction 220
feet; thence at right angles in a northwesterly direction
and parallel to the said southwesterly boundary line of
Gollihar Road 200 feet to a point for the westera corner
of this tract; thence at right angles 220 feet to a point
on the southwestern boundary line of Gollihar Road for
the northern earner of this tract; thence 200 feet along
the southwestern boundary line of said GolUber Road to
the said eastern corner of this tract;
all of said lands to be used for on overhead water storage tank and other
uses of the Water Division of the Department of Public Utilities; and other
mnuieipal purposes.
SECTION 2. That the City Manager is hereby authorized sad
directed to execute the "neoessary contracts for the purchase of said land
described in Section 1 hereof and to do all things incidentti or requisite
to obbtwaining the title and possession of said land.
SECTION 3. That the sun of Two Thousand Five Hundred Dollars
42,500.00) and such additional Bums as may be incurred as title expense
incident to the acquisition of said laud are to be paid Prom No. 298 City
of Corpus Christi Water Works Construction Fund.
SECTION 4. The necessity for acquiring land at the location of
said land herein described and the fact that the said lend is required
immediately for the use of the Water Department creates a public emergency
and public imperative necessity requiring the suspension of the 9harter rule
that no ordinanoe or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is
introduced and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three
several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that
such public emergency and imperative necessity exist, and having requested
that such Charter rule be suspended, and that this ordinance be passed
finally oa the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force
and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED.

Gentlemen:
For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the fore-
going ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for
the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or
resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and
that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three meetings of the
City Council; I, therefore, hereby request that you suspend said Charter
rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is
introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
