FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY, TO PURCHASE 2.294 ACRES OF LAND OUT OF THE LEM AND WIILARD 220 ACRE TRACT IN THE W. S. ' HARNEY 1,000 ACRE TRACT, SITUATED IN NUHCES COUNTY, TEXAB, FROM HERBERT J. JONES FOR THE SON OF $1,282.00 CASH, AND TITLE EXPENSE; AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE SAID CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE NECESSARY CONTRACTS AND INSTRUMENTS TO COUPLET]& THE PURCHASE OF TEE AFORE- SAID LAND; PROVIDING THAT PAYMENT FOR THE PURCHASE OF THE SAME SHALL BE PAID FROM N0. 295 I1[pROVENENT BONDS 1948 CONSTRUCTION FOND (STREET IMPROVEMENTS); AND DE- CLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS= SECTION 1. That the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed, for and on behalf of the City, to purchase the following des- cribed lead situated in Nueoes County, Teals: All that certain tract or parcel of land oontaining 2.294 acres of land located and being situate in Nueoes County, Texas, being out and a part of the Lewis sad Willard 220 acre tract is the W. S. Harney 1,000 acre tract, being a parcel of the grant to E. Villareal known as "E1 Rinoon del Oso ", Abstract No. 1 from the State of Texas is said county, said tract or parcel of land being more particularly described by metes and bounds as follows: BEGINNING at a point on the Northeast line of the Gust Hoye 40.8 acre tract from which the centerline of Eostoryz Road ea it now exists on the ground along said line extended to the Southeast bears South W 581 36" East 20.88 feet, for the east corner of this tract; THENCE Southerly along a line parallel with and 20.00 feet distant Prom the oeaterlins of said Hustoryz Road, South 0 28 48" Oast 52.20 feat to a point for the South corner of thin tract; THENCE Northwesterly along a line parallel with and 50.00 feet distant from the Northeast boundary line of maid Gust Hoye 40.8 acre tract. North 44 58' 36" West 1812.30 feet to a point for an interior corner of this tract; THENCE Southwesterly along a line parallel with end 110.00 feet distant from the Northwest boundary line of said Gust Heye 40.8 acre tract, South 45G 01- 24" West 38.00 feet to a point for the most Northerly South corner of this tract; THENCE Northwesterly along a line parallel with and 88.00 feet distant from the Northeast boundary line of said Gust Hey* hO.B acre tract, North 440 581 36" West 110.00 feet to a point in the Northwest boundary line of said Gust Hoye 40.8 acre tract for the West corner of this tract; THENCE Northeasterly along the Northwest line of said Gust Heys 40.8 acre tract, North 45G O1+ 24" East 88.00 feet to a point, the North corner of said Gust Hoye 40.8 acre tract for the North corner of this tract; THENCE Southeasterly along the Northeast boundary line of said Gust Have 40.8 acre tract, South 44G 58e 36" East 1907.32 feet to the PLACE OF MGIEN33G and containing 2—V4 sores of land. PAF all of said lands to be used for street, drainage and other municipal purposes. SECTION 2. That the City Manager is hereby authorised and directed to execute the necessary oontrpts for the purchase of said land described in Seotioa 1 hereof and to do all things incident to or requisite to obtaining the title end possession of said land. SECTION j. That the sum of One Thousand Two Hundred Eighty- Two Dollars (¢1,282.00). and such additional sums as may be incurred as title expense incident to the acquisition of said land are to be paid from No. 295 Improvement Bonds, 1948 Construction Fund (Street Improve- ments). SECTION 4. The necessity for acquiring land at the location of said land herein described and the fact that the said land is required for projects now under construction creates a public emergency and public imperative necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced and that such ordiaeaoa or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such public emergency and imperative necessity exist, and having requested that such Charter rule be suspended, and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED.
