HomeMy WebLinkAbout02605 ORD - 09/27/1949k AN ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 2577 PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL AUGUST 9, 1949 ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE DF,- FINING AND REGULATING GASOLINE FILLING STATIONS REQUIRING A LICENSE FOR TEE OPERA - TION OF SAME AND PRESCRIBING A LICENSE FEE; PRESCRIBING PENALTIES; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. "; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS. Section 1. Ordinance Number 2577 passed and approved by the City Council August 9, 1949 entitled "An ordinance defining and regulating gasoline filling stations requiring a license for the operation of same and prescribing a license fee; prescribing penalties; and declaring an emergency" and the same is hereby expressly repealed in force and effect. Section 2. All other ordinances, whether referred to in said Ordinance Number 2577 or not, now in effect are hereby continued in full force aid effect. Section 9. The necessity for immediate repeal of Ordinance Number 2577 before any enforcement was attempted creates a public emergency and imperative public necessity requiring a suspension of the Charter rate providing that no Ordinance or Resolution shall be passed finally on the day it is introduce!, and that such Ordinance or Resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such public emergency and imperative public necessity exists, and having requested that said Charter rule be suspended and that this Ordinance be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that this Ordinance take effect and be in full force and affect from and after its passage, it is so ordained.
