HomeMy WebLinkAbout02607 ORD - 09/27/1949w , AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE PURCHASE OF LOTS 1, 2, 3 AND 4, RIM 5, MIDUY ADDITION TO THE CITr OF CORPUS CHRISTI, NUECES COUNTY, TELLS, FROM OSCAR SOEM, Ef AL, FOR THE SUPS OF TWO THOUSAND SEW - HUNDRED KIM DOLLARS AID FOURTEEN CENTS ($2e,790,14.); PROVIDING THAT PAYMENT FOR THE P� OF SANE SHALL BE PAID FROM 10. 102 COBRHNT FUND; AND., ABCLARIi WIAN - I =dENCy.: - _- - - WBENEAS, the City of Corpus Christi desires to acquire Lots One (1), Two (2), Three (3) and Four (4), Block Five (5), of the Midway Addition to the City of Corpus Christi, Hawes County, Texas, for park and municipal purposes, and there have been sulTioiant funds appropriated in the ourrent' budget for.this purchase; NOW, THEREFORE, 'BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION- .m_ That the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed for and on behalf of the City to purchase Lots One (1), Two (2), Three (3) and your (4), Block Five (5), of the Midway Addition to the City of Corpus Christi, Hawes County, Teas, from Oscar %oepke, at el, for the sum of Two Thousand Seven Hundred Ninety Dollars and Fourteen Cents ($2,790.14); and said lot is to be used for park and menioi- pal purposes in the City of Corpus Christi, Terre, and said amount is hereby appro- priated out of No. -102'd 'yGri$..`.* .. SECTION 2. The fact that it is necessary to complete negotiations for purchase without delay, that the City is in need of said property for use with other property already owned by the City, and that said property can be acquired at a fair price creates a public emergency and public imperative necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shell be passed finally on the date it is introduced and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that each public emergent' and imperative necessity exist, and having requested that each Charter rule be suspended and that this erd4nane6 be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in fall force and effect from and after Its passage, IT 19 ACCORDINGLY SO ORDLI ED.
