26TH DAY OF.JULY, 1949, AND APPEARING OF
RECORD IN VOLUME 17, FAGS 456 OF THE GRDI-
NANCE AND RESOLUTION RECORDS OF THE CITY. OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, AND SPECIFICALLY SECTION 1
SUBSECTION A, PARAGRAPH 1 THEREOF, SO AS TO
CORRECT AN ERROR -MADE IN THE DESCRIPTION OF
A TRACT OF LAND REZONED FROM AN "R -1" CNE
FALICLY DWELLING DISTRICT USE TO AN "$ -2"
TWO FAMILY.DHELLING DISTRICT USE; AND D$-
CLABING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the City Council did on the 26th day of July, 1949, pass
an Ordinance, being Ordinance No. 2559, changing the zoning of a certain
tract of land from an "R -1" Oae Family Dwelling District Use to an "R -2"
Two Family Dwelling District Use; and,
WHEREAS, there is a discrepancy between the description of such
tract of land contained in Ordinance No. 2559 and the tract of land actually
intended by this Council to be so rezoned;
LOA, =BEFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, - TEIAS:
SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 2559, and specifically Section 1,
subsection A, paragraph 1 thereof be amended so as to read hereafter as
£ollowa;
"A. That the said Zoning Map approved by the City Council on
May 4, 1948, be and the same is hereby amended in the following respects:
1. That the following described tract of land located
in the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, to -wits
Situated in the County of Nueces, State of Texas, and
being all that certain 22.848 more tract or parcel of land
located in Corpus Christi, Texas, and being a portion of
the 43.052 acre tract of land conveyed by Frank Braslau,
at al, to Corpus Christi, Incorporated, April 11, 1949,
and recorded in Volume 426, pages 493 to 497 of the Deed
Records of Nueoee County, Texas, and more particularly
described as follows;
BEGINNING at a point in Northwest line of the 43.052
acre tract,_ conveyed by Frank Breslau, at al, to Corpus
Christi, Incorporated, April 11, 1949, said point being
40 ft. from and at right angles to the center line of South
Staples Street, formerly Dump Road;
THENCE North 450 001.East, 1627.26 feet to a point for
comer, said corner being the Northeast corner of said 43.052
acre tract;
THENCE South 310 06, East 821.25 feet to a point for
dormer;
THENCE South 50o 08' West 336.06 feet to a point for
corner;
THENCE South 31e 06, East 85.0 feet to a point for
corner;

TEENCE South 580 54' west 460.00 feet to a point for
corners
TBENCE North 31e 06+ west 318.69 feet to a point for
corners
TNENCE South 450 001 West 790.77 feet to a point for
corner in the Easterly line of South Staples Street, formerly
Dump Road, said point being 40 feet from and at right angles
to the center line of South Staples Street;
TEENCE North 310 04t 45" West with the easterly line of
South. Staples Street, being 40 feet from and parallel to the
center line of said street, a distance of 437.87 feet to the
place of beginning and containing 22.848 acres of land, be
and the same is hereby rezoned from 11R -1 "� One Family Dwelling
District Use to "R -2" Two Family Dwelling District Use.
SECTION 2. That except as herein amended in Section 1, all of the
terms of said Ordinance No. 2259 are hereby reenacted according to their
original provisions.
SECTION 3. The fact that the error in description of the property
rezoned by Ordinance No. 2559, as herein described, works a hardship on the
owners of said property in the proper development of the same creates a public
emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the
Charter Rule providing that no ordinance or resolution be passed finally on
the date it is introduced and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read
at three (3) several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor, having de-
clared that such public emergency and such imperative public necessity exist,
requests that said Charter Rule be suspended, and that this Ordinance take
effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage and after
its publication one time as is provided and required by the Charter of the
City of Corpus Christi, AND IT IS SO ORDAINED.

Gentlemen:
For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the fore-
going ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for
the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or
resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and
that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three meetings of the
City Council, I, therefore, hereby request that you suspend said Charter
rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is
introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
