STRUNMMS TO COMPIETE THE PURCHASE OF THE AFORESAID LAND; PROVIDING THAT PAYMENT FOR THE PURCHASE OF THE SAME SHALL HE PAID FROM NO. 295 IMPROVEMENT BONDS, 1948 CONSTRUCTION FUND (sTORM SEWER IMPROVEitF n); AND DECLkMO AN EMERGENCY. BE IT CRAAINED BY THE CITY CWNCn OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, rf .a TEXAS% - SECTION 1. That the City Manager is hereby authorised and directed, for and on behalf of the City, to purchase 1.18 acres of land described as follows, to -wit; A tract of land 60 feet in width and 860.07 feet in length out of a 30.25 acre tract designated as tract II of the Paisleys Subdivision of the Hoffman Tract and conveyed by J. E. McCord to Dahlia Fern McCord by deed re- corded in Volume 380 page 59 of the Deed Records of Nueces County, Texas, said tract of land being mom particularly described by sates and bounds as follows: Beginning at a 3/4e iron pipe in the northeast boundary line of South Staples Street (Dump Road) being the west corner of the aforementioned 30.25 acre tract; Thence S 310 .. 041 E with the northeast boundary line Of South Staples Street a distance of 868.75 feet to a point for the northwest corner and - beginning point of the tract hereby conveyed; Thence N 58 _ 581 E a distance of 856.73 feet to a point in the common boundary line between the W. E. Pope 280.574 acre tract, being a "Subdivision of Port Aransas Cliffs and designated as Sub- division D as shown by map or plat recorded in Volume 4 page 57 of the Map Records of Nueces County, Texas, and the aforementioned Dahlia McCord 30.25 acre tract for the northeast corner of the tract hereby conveyed; Thence 340 - 15' E along the common boundary line between the W. E. Pope 280.574 acre tract and the Dahlia McCord 30.25 acre tract a distance of 60.09 feet to a point for the southeast corner of the tract hereby conveyed; Thence S 580 _ 58, W a distance of 660.07 feet to a point in the northeast boundary line of South Staples Street (Dump Road) for the southeast corner of the tract hereby conveyed; Thence N 310 _ 041 W along the northeast boundary line of South Staples Street (Dump Road) a distance of 60 feet to the place Of beginning. Containing 1.18 acres of land more or less. a c��� all of said lands to be used for drainage ditch project now under construction, and other municipal purposes. SECTION 2. That the City Manager is hereby authorised and directed to execute the necessary contracts for the purchase of said lands described in Section 1 hereof and to do all things incident to or requisite to ob- taining the title and possession of said lands. SECTION 3. That the purchase price of the property described herein of One Thousand Seven Handred and Seventy Dollars ($13T10.00), and such additional sums as may be incurred as title expense incident to the ac- quisition of said land are to be paid from Mo. 295 Improvement Bonds 1948 Construction Fund (Storm Sewer Improvements). SECTION 4. The necessity for acquiring land at the location of said land herein described and the fact that the said land is required immediately for the use of the drainage project creates a public emergency and public imperative necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such public emergency and imperative necessity exist, end having requested that such Charter rule be suspended, and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO CRDUM.
