ORDER TO CAMRY OUT THE PITENTICN OF THIS
ORDINANCE; AND Da"CLLMIG AN MIERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the City of Corpus Christi intends to establish,
construct, and maintain a drainage channel and appurtenances and in order
to do so it is necessary that certain real property be acquired by said
City and more particularly described as follows;
Being a triangular tract of land out of the
north part of Lot 16, Section I of the Paisley's
Subdivision of the Hoffman Tract as shown by
map of record in the office of the County Clerk
of Naeces County, Texas and recorded in Volume
A, Page 28 of the Map Records of said County.
Said tract of land being more particularly des-
cribed by metes and bounds as follows, to-wit-
Beginning at the common corner of Lots 15
and 16, Section I and Lots 1 and 2, Section
B of the said Paisley's Subdivision of the Hoff-
man Tract;
Thence N 280 10' 20" E with the common boun-
dary line between lots 15 and 16, Section I
PaisleyTS Subdivision a distance of 983.32 feet
to a point for the most westerly corner of this
tract and place of beginning;
Thence N 280 101 20" E with the common boun-
dary line between Lots 15 and 16, Section I a
distance of 409.62 feet to a point in the south-
west boundary line of South Staples Street (Dump
Road) for the most northerly corner or this tract;
Thence S 310 091 20" E with the southwest
boundary line of South Staples Street (Dump Road)
a distance of 208.79 feet to a point for the
most easterly corner of this tract;
Thence S 58 048, 40" W a distance of 352.32
feet to the place of beginning.
Containing 0.844 acres of land more or less,
and,
WHEREAS, the record title of said property appears to be in
G. 0. Markins, E. H. Markin, and Yeager Harkins, being a part of the Ed
Markin Estate in Nueces County, Texas; as a result thereof it is impossible
that an agreement as to price and value of said property be reached between
the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, and said owners of said property; but it
becomes expedient that said property be condemned by the City of Corpus Christi,
Texas, for drainage channel purposes and related uses.
NOON, THEREFORE, 3S IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY Or CORPUS CHRISTI, TEYAS.
SECTION I. In conformity with the premise, and in accordance
with certain provisions of the City Charter, the said City of Corpus Christi,
Texas, does hereby order the condemnation of certain real estate in Nueces
County, Texas, and described as follows:
Being a triangular tract of land out of the
north part of Lot 16, Section I of the Paisley's
Subdivision of the Hoffman Tract as shown by
map of record in the office of the County Clark
Of Nueces County, Texas and recorded in Volume A,
Page 28 of the plop Records of said County. Said
tract of land being more particularly described

of the said Paisley's Subdivision of the Hoffman
Tract;
Thence N 280 101 20" E with the common boun-
dary line between Lots 15 and 16 Section I
Paisley's Subdivision a distance of 983.32 feet
to a point for the most westerly corner of this
tract and place of beginning;
Thence N 280 10' 20" E with the cosmnon boun-
dary. line between Lots 15 and 16, Section I a
distance of 409.62 feet to a point in the south-
west boundary line of South Staples Street (Dump
Road) for the most northerly corner of this tract;
Thence 5 310 09' 20" E with the southwest
boundary line of South Staples Street (Dump Road)
a distance of 208.79 feet to a point for the most
easterly corner of this tract;
Thence S 580 48' 40" W a distance of 352.32
feet to the place of beginning.
Containing 0.844 acres of land more or less,
and the City Attorney is here authorized and directed to institute condemna-
tion proceedings against said property and all the persons who might have an
interest therein, and to proceed with said condemnation suit to its conclu-
sion, with the intention in mind of obtaining fee simple title in and to
said property for the purpose of using the same for drainage channel con-
struction and maintenance and related uses.
SECTION II. The public importance of this Ordinance
and the necessity for the City to gain possession and title, of the real
property hereinbefore set out so that a drainage channel and appurtenances
may be constructed and maintained, creates a public emergency and public
imperative necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter Rule providing
that no ordinance or resolution be passed finally on the date it is intro —
at
duced and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read /three several
meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor, having declared that such public
emergency and such imperative public necessity exist, requests that said
Charte•Rule be suspended, and that this Ordinance take effect and be in
full force and effect, from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY
ORDAETD.

Gentlemen:
For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the fore-
going ordinance, a public emergenoy and imperative necessity exist for
the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or
resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and
that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three greetings of the
City Council; I, therefore, hereby request that you suspend said Charter
rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is
introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
