AN ORDINANCE RECEIVING AND ACCEPTING THE WORE OF CONSTRUCTION OF SANITARY SEWER MAIN IN SHELL ROAD EXTENSION TO MVE SAVAGE LANE SCHOOL IN THE CITY OF CORPUS _ CHRISTI, TEAS, SAME BEING THE SANITARY SEWER' MAIN AUTHORIZED UNDER CONTRACT DATED AUGUST 9, 1949. BETWEEN THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI AND HELDENFELS BROTHERS UNDER THE CONTRACT FOR SAID SANITARY SEWER MAIN, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY CGUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI. TERAS: SECTION L. That the work of construction of sanitary sewer main in Shell Road Extension to serve Savage Lane School in the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, performed by Holdenfels Brothers, having been per- formed and completed in accordance with the terms and previsions of the contract and the plans and specifications therein contained, said contract having been entered into by and between the City and Heklenfels Brothers on the 9th day of August, 19492 and the Director of Public Works having inspected the same and certified to the oompstion of said work in accord- ance with said plane and specifications, and said work aforesaid is here- by found to have been completed in acoordance with the plans and specifi- cations and is herenow accepted and received by the City Council of the .'�a'r T'Lnar peyide=_=o-rnxcarzne_.cou�ra�.- ,�..g,� set out in the final estimate prepared by the Director of Public Works dated December 5, 1949, in the sum of Four Thousand Three Hundred Forty Eight and 14/100 Dollars (U,34a.14) be made in accordance with the terms of such contract and that such payment be made from No. 295 Improvement Bonds 1948 Construction Fund (Sanitary Sewer Improvements). SECTION 3, The Corpus Christi Independent School Diatriot having contracted to reimburse the said City of Corpus Christi the amount paid on said contract, the Director of Finance and the City Secretary are hereby directed to notify said District of the completion of wark,.CsLM {ewe. SECTION 4. The necessity for providing adequate sewage facilities at the location of said construction creates a public amergency sad public imperative necessity requiring -.the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having deo3Ared that such public emergency and imperative necessity exist, and having re- �lD�� quested that such Charter rule be suspended, and that this ordinenoe be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from end after its passage, IT IS ,ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED.
