BE IT ORDAINED BY TEL; CITY COTINCIL OF = CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, T22' .1.6 SECTION 1. Ordinance No. 2570 passed and approved by the City Council July 29, 19119 entitled "An Ordinance providing for the collection, removal and disposal of garbage, trash and rubbish within the City of Corpus Christi; Defin- ing terms; Requiring all owners, occupants, tenants, or lessees of residences, churches, schools, colleges, lodges, and Commercial, industrial businesses or other buildings within the City to provide containers and receptacles with covers for garbage and trash, Specifying that containers and receptacles be placed at convenient locations on the premises where they may be emptied andthe contents re- moved at regular intervals; Prohibiting anyone except agents or employees of the City of Corpus Christi from amptying containers or receptacles or transporting the contents thereof on the streets andpublio thoroughfares without a permit from the City Council; Prescribing regulations for the securing of va:-mits; Fixing Schedules of reasonable charges to be made against owners, occupants, tenants and lessees of buildings and aremises ?receiving the service;Requiring the Director of the Department � � s of Public Health to make periodic inspections of the buildings, premises and all places where garbage, trash and rubbish may accumulate and enforce and administer the provisions of the ordinance; Providing saving clause in the event argr part of the ordinance should be declared unconstitutional; Fixing a penalty for the violation thereof, Repealing all ordinances or parts of ordin- ances in conflict herewith; Providing an effective date; and Declaring an Eta - ergenoy ;" and the setae is hereby expressly repealed in force and effect. SECTION 2. Allother ordinances, whether referred to in said Ordinance lhdasr 2570 or not, now in effect are hereby continued in full force and effect. SECTION j. The necessity for immediate repeal of Ordinance Humber 2570 before any enforcement was attempted creates a public emergency and im- perative public necessity requiring a suspension of the Charter rule providing that no Ordinance or Resolution shall be passed finally on the day it is in- troduced, and that such Ordinance Or Resolution shall be read at three sev- eral meetings of the City Council, and the Vayor having declared the+ such public emergency andimperative public necessity exists, and having requested that said Charter rule be suspended and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that this ordiance take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS SO ORDAINED.
