SECTION 1. That the City E?ana,"er is hereby authorized and directed,
for and on behalf of the City, to purchase 0.814 acres of land described as follows,

Being a triangular tract of land out of the
north part of Lot 16, Section I of the paisleys
Subdivision of.the Hoffman Tract as shown by
map or record in the office of the County Clerk
of Nueces County, Texas and recorded in Volume
A, Page 28 of the Liap Records of said C.uatyj
said tract of land bei: =g more particularly described
by mates and bounds as follows, Le -wit;
BEGIUNTIM At the common corner of Lots 15
and 16, Section I andLots 1 and 2, Section
B of the said Paisleys Subdivision of the Hoffman
Tract;
TI13NCE N 28 deg. 10, 20" E with the common be=-
dary line between lots 15 apol6, Section I PAISIMIS
SUBDIVISION a distance of 983.32 feet to a paint for
the "most westerly corner of this tract and place of
beginning;
THENCE N 28 deg. 10, 20" E with the common boun-
dary line between Lots 15 and 16; Section I a distance
of 409.62 feet to a point in the southwest,boundary
line of South Staples Street (Dump Road) for the most
northerly comer of this tract;
THENCE S 31 deg. 091 20" E with the southwest
boundary line of South Staples Street (Dump Road)
a distance of 208.79 feet to a point for the most
easterly corner of this tract;
THENCE S 58 deg. 48, 40" W a distance of 352.32
feet to the PLACE OF BEGINHING.
Containing 0.844 acres of land, more or less,
all of said ]ands to be used for drainage channel purposes and .other munioipal
purposes.
SECTIGN 2. That the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed
to execute the necessary contracts £or the purchase of said 1widsde5eribed in
Section 1 hereof andto do all things incident to or requisite to obtain the
title and possession of said lands.
SECTION 3 That the purchase price of the property described here-
in of Seventeen Hundred Fifty Dollars (1750), andsuch additional sums as may
be incurred as title expense incident to the acquisition of said land are to
be paid from 17o. 295 Improvement Bonds 1948 Construction Feud (Storm Sewer
Improvements).
SECTION 4. The necessity for acquiring land at i he location ox"
said land herein described aadthe fact that the said land is required immediately
for the use of the drainage channel project creates a public an rgency and
public imperative necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that
no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced
and that such ordinance ar resolution shall be read at three several meetings
of the City Council, andthe Mayor having declared that such 3ublic emergency
and imperative necessity exist. end having requested that such Charter rule
be suspended, and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its intro-
duction and take effect and be in full force and effect from. and after its pass-
age, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAM-INM.

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the fore-
going ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for
the Suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or
resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and
that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three meetings of the
City Council; I, therefore, hereby request that you suspend said Charter
rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is
introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
