BE IT ORDAINED BY THE, CITY COTRICIL OF TEE CITY OP CORPUS CIRISTI, TEXAS-
SECTION 1. That the City l nager is hereby authorized and direct-
ed for and m behalf of the City to acquire a drainage easement on that
certain tract of land being described as £ollowse
Being an irregular strip of land out of
the southwest portion of the W. E. Pope
170.14 acre tract conveyed by Guaranty
Title and Trust Company, Trustee, to i7.
R. Reid by deed dated February 12, 1946,
and recorded in Volume .326, page 390 of
the Deed Records of Nueces County, Toxas,
said,strip of land being more particularly
described by metes and bounds as follows,
to-wit.

line of Alameda Street, said point bears N.
31 deg. 06r W 626.14 faot from the southcorner
of the said 17. E, Pope 170.14 acre tract, be-
ing also the intersection of the northeast
line of Alameda Street and the northwest line
of Everhart Road;

east line of Alameda Street a distance of
75.00 feet to a point for the northwest cor-
ner of the tract herein described;
THENCE N 58 deg. 54, E a distance of
1019.19 feet to a paint for a corner of the
tract herein described;
THENCE H 27 deg. 24- E e distance of
290.82 feet to a point in the southwest line
of a tract of lend conveyed by V.16 Reid to
the City of Corpus Christi by deed recorded
in Volume 402 Page 230 of the Dead Records of
Nuecea County, Texas, for the northeast cor-
ner of the tract herein described;

west line of said City of,Corpus Christi Tract
a distance of 103.69 feet to a point for the
southeast corner of the tract herein described,
said point being also the wouth comer of said

Containing 2.468 acres of land, more or less.
SECTION 2. That the City iianager is hereby authorised and directed
for and on behalf of the City to acquire a right- o£-way deed on that cur-
tain tract of land being described as follows:
Being a strip of land 35 feet in width
and 1175.66 feet in length off of the

acre tract of land conveyed by Guaranty
Title and Trust Company, Trustee, to W
R. Reid by dead dated February 12, 1946
and recorded in Voltage _326 page 398 of tha
Deed Records of Nueoos County, Texas, said
strip of land being more particularly dam
scribed by :metes and bounds as follows,
to -wit:
BEGINNING At as iron rod, the inter-
section of the northwest line of Everhart
Road and the northeast line of Alameda Street,
being also the southwest corner of said W.
E- Pope 170,14 acre tract for the southwest
corner of the tract herein described;

line of Alameda Street a distance of 20.37
feet to a point for the northwest corner of
the tract herein describedt
THENCE td 29 deg. 00, E parallel to and
35 feet northwest of the northwest line of
Everhart Road a distance of 1175,68 feet to
a point for the northeast corner of the trgot
herein described;
THENCE S 31 deg. 061 E a distance of
40.37 feet to a point in the northwest line
of Everhart Road for the southeast corner of
the tract herein described;

1175.66 feet to the PLACE OF BEGINNING,
Containing 0.945 acres of land, more or less;
SECTION 3. That the easement on that certain tract o£ land de-
scribed in Section 1 hereof is being acquired for the purpose of con-
structing and maintaining Gollihar Drainage Channel and appurtenances
upon said tract and way for the ,nlblio use and benefit, as well as for
laying, repairing, servicing and maintaining public utility lines and
storm sewers in, on, over, under, and along said tract or way, and other
municipal purposes. That the right- of-way on that certain tract of land
described in Section 2 hereof is being acquired for the purpose of street
construction, improvements, and maintenance and other municipal purposes
including the use thereof as a utility easement.
Section. L}. That the City Yana,.,er is hereby authoriged and direct-
ed to aeouire said land and to execute the necessary instruments incident
to such acquisition of the said percale of land described herein from 71.
R. Reid.
Section 5. 'The consideration for said conveyances be fw ished
by the City as provided in the agreement as to same, a oo7 oil v iioh is
attached hereto sad made a part hereof.
Section 6. The fact that the construction and maintenance of
Gollihar Drainage Channel and appurtenances for the ublic use and bene-
fit and the need for street improvements and for providing utility case-
ments and other municipal improvements and the fact that said land is re-
quired immediately for said pur -poses areatos a public emergency and i.m-
perativa public necessity requiring the suspension o£ the 01urtor rule
that no ordinanco or resolution shall be ir.s-, d finally on the date it
is introduced and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at
three several meetinga of tiac City Council and the ::ayor having declared
t_iat such pp:olic emergency and iu. arzGive necessity exist, and having re-
quested that such Charter rule be suspended, end Lh�, this ordinance be
passed finally on titia date it is introduced and take effect and be in

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the fore-
going ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for
the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or
resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and
that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three meetings of the
City Council; I, therefore, hereby request that you suspend said Charter
rule or requirement and pave this ordinance finally on the date it is
Introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
