EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH RICHARD S. cOLLEY FOR
ARCHITECT'S 1MERVICE3 IN DESIGNING AND 0033TRUCT-
ING A. CITY BALL BUILDING AND A MUNICIPAL AUDITORIUM
AND MEM= HALL BUILDING FOR CONSIDERATION. AS OBI
FORTH IN SAID AGREEMENT, TO BE PAID OUT OF THE PRO-
CEEDS OF THE SALE OF BONDS HERETOFORE AUTHORIZED TO
BE ISSUED FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF SUCH PROJECT,.AND
THE PAYMENTS- PRCYIDED IN SAID CONTRACT ARE REBRBY AP-
ncestuTED FROM SAID FONDS; A COPY OF WSICH AGREE.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI:
SECTION 1. That the City Meager is hereby authorized and
directed for and on behalf of the City of Corpus Christi to execute an agree -

ing a oity ball building and a municipal auditorium and assembly hall build.
ing for consideration as set forth in said agreement, to be paid out of the
proceeds of the sale of bonds heretofore authorized to be issued for the oonr
atruotion of auoh project. and the payments provided in said ooutraot are
hereby appropriated from said funds; s. oopy of which agreement is attached

SECT /Off 2. That the need to proceed with the designing end
constructing of said City hall building and memorial assembly hall build -
ing,and the proceeds of the sale of bonds heretofore authorised to be
issued for the construction of such projeot be available, an soon as
possible, being of public imporbanoe, creates a publio emergency and im-
perative public neoeaaity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule or
requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the
date it ie introduoed, and that auoh ordinance or resolution shall be read
at three meetings of the City Connell, and the Mayor having declared that
such public emergency and imperative public neoesaity exist, and having
requested that said Charter rule be suspended and that this ordinance be
passed finally on the dateit ie introduced, and take effect and be in
full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO
ORDAINED.

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the fore-
going ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for
the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or
resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and
that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three meetings of the
City Cbuncili I, therefore, hereby request that you suspend said Charter
rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is
introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
