BE IT OFDAIBSD BY TBE CITY COUNCIL OF TS CM OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TESAS:
SECTICK 1. That the work of construction of storm sever im-
provements along Louisiana Avenue from Often Drive to Alameda Street in
the City of Corpus Christi, Teass, performed by Slovak Brothers, having
been performed and completed in accordance with the terms and provisions
of the contract and the plans and specifications therein contained, and
materials incorporated in the construction thereof having been tested and
approved, said contract having been entered into by and between the City
and Slovak Brothers on the lot day of February, 1949, said contract being
authorised by Ordinance No. 244 passed end approved on February la 19W*
and the Director of Public Works having inspected the aeons andoertified
to the completion of said work in accordance with said plans and speoifi-
oations, said work aforesaid is hereby found to have been completed in
accordance with the plane and specifications and is here now accepted and
received by the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, Tease.
SECTION 2. That final payment due under the contract and as
act out in the final estimate prepared by the Director of Public Works
dated December 9, 19499 in the am of Fortyrtwo Thousand Seven Hundred
Twelve Dollars and Seventy -nine Cents ($120712.79) be made in accordance
'4th the terms of such contract and that such payment be made from No.
295 Storm Sewer Improvement Boads 1944 Ccnstruation Fund.
SECTION 3e The neoassity for providing adequate drainage
on Louisiana Street from Ocean Drive to Alameda Street #'within the City
of Corpus Christi, creates a public emergency and public imperative nooes -
sity requiring the suspenaica of the Charter rule that no ordinenoe or
resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced end that
such ordimnoe or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of
the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such public emergency

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the fore-
going ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for
the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or
resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and
that such ordimnoe or resolution shall be read at three meetings of the
City Counoil; I, therefore, hereby request that you suspend said Charter
rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is
introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
