AMENDIIG ORDINANCE NO. 2480 PASSED AND APPROVED
BY THE CITY COUNCIL ON THE 1ST DAY OF MARCH, A.D.,
1949, BY AMENDING SECTION 3 OF SAID ORDINANCE
CORRECTING THE A33ESM ENTS LEVIED AGAINST ABUTTING
PROPERTY QMRS ON NINETEENTH STREET FROM THE
NORTH PROPERTY LINE OF AGNES STREET T9 THE NORTH
PROPERTY LINE OF LIPAN STREET, LIPAN STREET FROM
THE WEST PROPERTY LINE OF BROWNLEE BOULEVARD TO THE
EAST PROPERTY LINE OF NINETEENTH STREET, AND COMANCHE
STREET FROM THE EAST PROPERTY LINE OF COKE STREET TO
THE EAST PROPERTY LINE OF NINETEENTH STREET; AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That Section 3 of Ordinance Noe 2480 passed and
approved by the City Council on the let day of March, 1949, is hereby
amended and said Section 3 of said ordinance shall hereafter read as
follows, to —wit:
^SECTION 3. That in pursuance of said ordinance, duly enacted,
by said City Council, authorizing and ordering the improvement of
Nineteenth Street, Lipan Street and Comanche Street, within the limits
hereinabove named and defined, and in pursuance of said proceedings
heretofore had and enacted by said City Council in reference to said
improvements and by virtue of the powers vested in said City with
respect to said street improvements by the Laws of the State of Texas
and the Charter of said City, with particular reference to Chapter 106
of the Acts of the First Called Session of the 40th Legislature of the
State of Texas, ]mown and shown as Article 1105 —B of Vernon ►s Annotated
Civil Statutes of Texas, as amended, there shall be, and is hereby
levied, assessed and taxed against the respective parcels of property
abutting upon said portion of said streets, and against the real and
true owners thereof, whether such real and true owner or owners be
named or correctly named herein or not, the several sums of money
hereinbelow mentioned and itemized opposite the description of the
respective parcels of said property, the number of front feet of each
and the several amounts assessed against same and the real and true
owner or owners thereof, and the names of the apparent owners thereof,
all as corrected and adjusted by said City Council, being as follows,

SECTION 2. The necessity for amending said Ordinance
No. 2480 in order to show the correct property owners abutting upon '
Nineteenth Street and in order to properly levy assessments concerning
same, creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity,
requiring the suspension of the Charter Rule, that no ordinance or
resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction, and
that said ordinance shall be read at three several meetings of the City
Council, and the Mayor having declared that such emergency and imperative
public necessity exists, and having requested that the Charter Rule be
suspended and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its
introduction and that this ordinance take effect and be in full force
and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO OR DINED.

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the
foregoing ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity
exist for the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that
no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it
is introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read
at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore, hereby request
that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this
ordinance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present
meeting of the City Council.

held by the City of Corpus Christi in and upon the following

SECTION II. The necessity of clearing title to the
aforesaid parcels of land creates a public emergency and im-
perative public necessity requiring the suspension of that
Charter Rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed
finally on the date of its introduction and that such ordinances
and resolutions shall be read at three several meetings of the
City Council, and the Mayor, having declared that such emergency
and necessity exist, requesting that such Charter rule be
suspended and that this ordinance be passed finally on the
date of its introduction, and take effect and be in full force
and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORD324GLY SO
