AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER FOR
AW ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF COfFUS CHRISTI TO
PURCHASE A TRIANGULAR TROT OF LAND ON THE NORTH
SIDE OF AGNES STREET FOR THE PURPOSE OF AGNES
STREET YVIDENING.FROM RP.FAEL GALVAN JR. FOR THE
CONSIDERATION OF -EIGET HUNDRED TWENTY -THREE DOLLARS
($823) cash; AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY
MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE NECESSARY INS'IRUPMUS TO
COMPUTE THE PURCHASE OF AFORESAID LAND; PROVIDING
FOR THE PAYMENT OF THE PURCHASE PRICE TO BE PAID
FROM FUND N0. 295 I PROFEML'11T BONDS, 1948 CONSTRUC-
TION FUND (STPP -T IMPROVENENTS): AND DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TyZ AS:
SECTION I. That the City Manager is hereby authorized and di-
rected for and on behalf of the City to purchase a triangular tract of land
on the North side of Agnes Street for Agnes Street ffidening, more particular-
ly described as follows, to -wit:
A triangular tract of land off of the south side
of lots 1, 2, 3, and 4s Block 2, Chamberlain Addition
to the City of Corpus Christi as shown by map or plat
of record in Volume A, page 16 of the Map Records of
Nueoes County, Texas, said tract of land being more
particularly described by mates and bounds as follows:
BEGINNING At a point, the southwest corner of lot
1, Block 2 of said Chamberlain Addition for the south-
west corner of this tract;
TIENCE N 9'deg. OOt W with the west boundary line of
said lot 1 a distance of 12.28 feet to a point for -the north-
west corner of this -tract;
THENCE N 88 deg. OOt E across lots 1, 2, 3 and 4 of
said Block 2, Chamberlain Addition a distance of 100.76
feet to a point, the southeast corner of said lot 4 for
the east corner of this tract;
THENCE S 81 deg. OOt Cif with the present north boun-
dary line of Agnes Street a distance of 100 feet to the
PLACE OF BEGINNING, and containing 614 square feet of land,
from Rafael Galvan Jr., owner.
SECTION II. That the City Manager is hereby authorized and
directed to execute the necessary instruments for the purchase of said lands
described in Section I hereof and to do all things incident to or requisite
to obtaining the title and possession of said land.
SECTION III. That the purchase price of the property describ-
herein, Eight Hundred Twenty -three Dollars, and such additional sums as may
be incurred as title expense incident to the said acquisition are to be paid
from No. 295 Improvement Bonds, 1948 Construction Fund (Street Iraprovements).
SECTION N. The necessity for acquiring land at the location

Of said land herein described and the fact that the said land is required im-
mediately for the purpose of widening Agnes Street creates a public emergency
and imperative necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter Rule that no
ordinance or resolttion shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction
and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings
of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such public emergency
and imperative public necessity exist, and having requested that such Charter
rule be suspended, and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of
its introduction, and that this ordinance take effect and be in full force
and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCO2DINGLY SO OPMAINED.

Gentleman:
For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the fore-
going ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for
the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or
resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and
that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three meetings of the
City Council; I, therefore, hereby request that you suspend said Charter
rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is
introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
