TO EXECUTE FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY
A RELEASE OF SPECIAL ASSESSMENT FOR SIDE -
WALK IMPROVEMENTS ON LOT 15, BLOCK 8, BROAD -
MOOR PARK 42 ADDITION TO THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS, AGAINST GM. A. HUMBLE, SR.,
OEM, DATED APRIL 1, 1947; A COPY OF WHICH
RELEASE IS MADE A PART HEREOF; AND DECLARING
AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager of the City of Corpus Christi
is hereby authorized and directed for and on behalf of the City to execute
a release of special assessment for sidewalk improvements on Lot 15, Block
8, Broadmoor Park 7f2 Addition to the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, against
Chas. A. Humble, Sr., owner, dated April 1, 1947, a copy of which release
is attached hereto and made a part hereof, to -wit:

SECTION 20 That the necessity of clearing the titles to lands
covered by such special assessment creates a public emergency and impera-
tive necessity requiring the suspension of that certain Charter Rule re-
quiring that no ordinance or resolution:,be passed finally on the date it
is introduced and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three
several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that
such emergency and necessity do exist and having requested that such Charter
rule be suspended and that this ordinance take effect and be in full force
and effect from and after the date it is introduced and passeds IT IS
ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED,

Gentlemen:
For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the fore-
going ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for
the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or
resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and
that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three meetings of the
City Council, I, therefore, hereby request that you suspend said Charter
rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is
introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
