HomeMy WebLinkAbout02740 ORD - 04/11/1950tmou�er: L6/10/50 (5) AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING MONEY FROM FOND NO. 299 1950 SAXI SEWRR IMPROVEMENTS - FOR ESM AN 8" SANITARY SEWER EXTENSION IN DODDRIDGE STREET FROM SANTA FE TO STREETS; AUTHORIZING THE DD TOR OF MIMIC TO PROCEED WITH SAID IMPR0VEMERTS, THE WORK OF WHICH IS TO BE DONE BY CITY FORCES; AND DECIARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, There is needed approximately $3,100.00 to pear for east of installation of an 8" Sanitary Sewer Extension in Doddridge Street from Santa Fe to Alameda Streeter and WHEREAS, There are sufficient funds available for such installation cost in Fund No. 299 - 1950 Sanitary Sewer Ili provementa; and WHEREAS, It is contemplated that said work will be done by City Forces; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,TEXAS: SECTION I. There is hereby appropriated the sum of $3,100.00 from Fund No. 299.- 1950 Sanitary Sewer Improvements, out of which amount there is to be paid $20818.19, the estimated cost for installation of an 8" Sanitary Sewer Extension in Doddridge Street from Santa Fe to Alameda Streets; and the bal- ance of said appropriation is the amount equivalent to ten per cent of said estimated cost, which amount is hereby appropriated to pay contingent costs of said project. SECTION II. The Director of Public Works is hereby directed to proceed with the work described in Section I here- of and to be done by City Forces* SECTION III. The fact that it is necessary to com- mence such work at once in order to provide adequate sanitary sewer mains to serve said area and to protect the health and general welfare of the peoples of the City of Corpus Christi, creates a public emergency and imperative public necessity re- 2-70 quiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is intro- duced and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor, hav- ing declared that such emergency end necessity exist, request iug that said Charter rule be suspended, and that this ordinance be passed finally on the day it is introduced and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED.
