EXCLUSIVE OF TM S, .0 PARK AREAS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, Certain portions of land between East and West Shoreline Drives from Furman Avenue on the South to the South line of Park Avenue extended on the North, exclusive of the streets, are suitable for park and recreation purposes, and WHEREAS, It is desirable to improve the same as park and recreation area and to use'for such improvements such appropriated funds available for permanent park improvements; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF TEE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TESASs SECTION 1. That portion of the area between East and West Shoreline Drives from Furman Avenw on the South to the South line of Park Avenue extended on the North, exclusive of the streets, be and the same is hereby designated as park area to be improved, used, maintained, and controlled as part of the park and recreation property, of the City of Corpus Christi for the use of the public. SECTION 2.' The fact that the improvements should be commenced as soon as practical on the areas herein designated as park and recreation areas, and that it is necessary that such designation be made as a dedication of said property for the use of the public as park and recreation areas oreates a public emergency and impera- tive public necessity requiring the suspension of that certain Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution @hall be passed finally on the day it is introduced and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor, having declared that such emergency and necessity exist, request- ing that such Charter rule be suspended and this ordinance be pass- ed finally on the day it is introduced and take effect and be in 2'7"'� full foroe sad effeot from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO RESOLVED. For the reasons not forth in the emergency clause of the fore- going ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore, hereby request that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
