WEST SIDE OF NINETEENTH STREET AND
BEING LOT 13, and 14, BLOCK 2, S.
K. E1= ADDITION TO THE CITY AND
THE GUM THEREOF, BENITO LUCID,
FOR AND IN CONSIDERATION OF THE
PAYMENT OF SAID ASSESSMENT CERTIFI-
CATE AND INTEREST THEREON; AND DE-
CLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS,
SECTION I• That the City Manager for and on behalf
of the City of Corpus Christi be and he is hereby authoris-
ed and directed to execute a release of special assessment
for sidewalk improvements against the property fronting 145
feet on the West side of Nineteenth Street and being Lot 13
and lµ, Block 2, S. K. EKERD ADDITION to the City and the
owner thereof, BENITO LUCID, for and in consideration of the
payment of said assessment certificate and interest thereon;
a copy of which release is made apart hereof and attached
hereto, to -wit,

SECTION II. The necessity of clearing the title of
the property involved creates a public emergency and impera-
tive public necessity requiring thesupsension of the Charter
rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally
on the date it is introduced and that such ordinance or resolu-
tion shall be read at three several meetings of the City Coun-
oil, and the Mayor, having declared that such emergency and
imperative necessity exists requesting that said Charter rule
be suspended and that this ordinance be passed finally on
the day it is introduced and take effect and be in full force
and effect from and after its passages IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO
ORDAINED.

Gentlemen:
For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the fore-
going ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for
the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or
resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and
that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three meetings of the
City Council; I, therefore, hereby request that you suspend said Charter
rule or requirement and page this ordinance finally on the date it is
introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
