The necessity of maintaining adequate seawall and storm protection improvements and the imperative need to keep in repair the aforen,ention improvements and T -Beads as a part of such storm protection improvements from further deterioration creates a public emergency and impera- tive public necessity requiring the suspension of that cer- tain Charier rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced and that such ordin- anoe or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council} and the Mayor, having declared that such emergency and necessity exist, requesting that such Charter rule be suspended and that this ordinance be passed finally on the day it is introduced and take 'rfect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDING- INGLY SO ORDA DM. PASSED AND APPROVED, This the day of April, A.D. 1950- j MAYOR ESTs The City of Corpus Christi, Texas v ty Secretary P.FPR 'iD AS TO LEGAL FORM: t rney Corpus Christi, Texas / 1949 TO THE MEM E$S OF TAE CITY COUNCIL Corpus Christi, Texas Gentleman: For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the fore- going ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore, hereby request that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
