AN ORDINANCE
APPROPRIATING $4,000 FROM FUND NO. 295
BONDS 1948 CONSTRUCTION FUND
(STORM SEWER D&ROM ENTS) AND $2,878 FROM
F R072-PENT R072—PENT BONDS 1950 CONSTRUC-
TION FUND (PARK 111PROV0.CENTS) FOR THE PURPOSE
OF REDEVELOVM�Nf. SODDING AND PLANTING OF
LOUIS ANA PARKW EXTENDI1G BE 0 'LAN DRI?>
AND _ AMANEDA STREET IN THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
SAID WORK TO B=ONE BY THE PARK DEPARTMENT 'iMH
ITS CITY FORCES; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. .
WHEREAS, There is needed the sum of $6,878.00 to pay
for the redevelopment, sodding, and planting of Louisiana Parkway
extending between Ocean Drive and Alameda Street in the City of
Corpus Christi; and
'WHEREAS, It has been recommended that $4,000 be paid
from Storm Sewer Bond Funds for restoration of this parkway to
cover the extent of damages to this parkway from the installa-
tion of the large box culvert in said parkway; and
WHEREAS, There are sufficient funds available in
Fund No. 296 Improvement Bonds 1950 Construction Fund (Park
Improvements) to cover the balance of $2,B78 needed for such
redevelopment; and
WHEREAS, It is contemplated that said work will be
done by the Park Department City Forces;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
Section I. There is hereby appropriated the sum
of $4,000 from Fund No. 295 Improvement Bonds 1948 Construction
Fund (Storm Sewer Improvements) and $2,878 from Fund No. 296
Improvement Bonds 1950 Construction Fund (Park Improvements),
which money is to be used for the redevelopment, sodding, and
planting of Louisiana Parkway extending between Ocean Drive
and Alameda Street in the City of Corpus Christi.
Section II. The Park Department is hereby author-
ized to proceed with such work to be done by its employees to
accomplish the project as aforesaid.

Section III. The fact, that contemplated improve-
ments are permanent improvements and are a part of the park
system of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, and that it is
neceesa,'�r to commence work cr said improvements at once creates
a public emergency and imperative public necessity -requiring
the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or reso-
lution shall be passed finally on the day it is introduced
and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three
several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor, having
declared such emergency and necessity to exist, requesting
that said Charter rule be suspended and that this ordinance
be passed finally on the date it is introduced and take ef-
fect and be in full force and effect from and after its
passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO OTMAINED.

Gentlemen:
For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the fore-
going Ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for
the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or
resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and
that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three meetings of the
City Council; I, therefore, hereby request that you suspend said Charter
rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is
introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.

and such money is not appropriated for any other purpose.
