WIE=, , There is needed approximately h69,213.66 for cost of installation of all piping, fittings, and valves, and other material, and for the installation thereof, necessary to install water mains along South Alameda Street from Robert Drive to Ocean Drive; and WHEREAS, The approval of said project has been secured from Greeley and Hansen, Consulting Engineers representing the holders of lister Bonds, and HM11AS, There are sufficient funds available for such installation cost in Fluid No. 298 City of Corpus Christi Waterworks Construction; and WILr+REAS, It is contemplated that said work will be done by City Forces: NOW, T1.R.REFORE, BE IT ORDAINM BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF TIIE CITY OF CORPUS CMISTI, TEKAS: 5ECTIOI; T. There is hereby appropriated the sun of °$69,213.66 from Fund No. 298 City of Corpus Christi Waterworks Construction, out of which amount there is to be paid the estimated cost of pipe, fittings, valves and other materials for Project No. 209, Water Mains along South Alameda Street from Robert Drive to Ocean Drive to serve surround- ing areas (Edgewater Terrace, Aero Village, Ocean Drive, and Oso Golf Course, and other areas) and the installation thereof, in accordance with the attached estimates of cost of said project and relative �SOd sketches, said estimates and sketches being made a part hereof, SECTION II. The Director of Public Works of the City of Corpus Christi is Iierehy directed to proceed with the work described herein, such work to be performed by City Forces. SECTION III. The fact that it is necessary to make such appropriation as above set out in order that the said pro- ject may be commenced so as to relieve the low pressures existing in some areas, and to provide adequate water service for other and new or future areas or subdivisions, and to order such work done, create a public emergency and imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Chaster rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is intro- duced and that such ordnance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the I=,ayor, having declared that such emergency and necessity exist, requesting that said Charter rule be suspended and that this ordinance be passed finally on the day it is introduced and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED.
