AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER
FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI TO EXECUTE A RELEASE OF SPECIAL
ASSESSMENT FOR SIDEWALK IMPROVEMENT AGAINST
THE PROPERTY FRONTING 50 FEET ON THE WEST
SIDE OF NIAGARA, BEING THE LOT 6, BLOCK 10,
SEGREST ADDITION, CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
AND THE UNNER THEREOF, H. B. KUYKENDALL,
FOR AND IN CONSIDERATION OF THE PAYMENT
THEREOF AND INTEREST THEREON; WHICH RELEASE
IS MADE A PART HEREOF; AND DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,TEXAS:
SECTION I. That the City Manager for and on behalf
of the City of Corpus Christi be and he is hereby authorized
and directed to execute a release of special assessment for side-
walk improvements against the property fronting 50 feet on the
west side of Niagara Street and being Lot 6, Block 10 SEGREST
ADDITION to the City of Corpus Christi and the owner thereof, H.
B. Kuykendall, for and in consideration of the payment of said
assessment certificate and interest thereon, a copy of which rem
lease is made a part hereof and attached hereto, to -+wit:

A'FffifiWq By ordinance Na. 1969 adopted on the 29th day
of August, 19h6, as amended on the 25th day of starch, 1947, by
Ordinance No. 2049, both of wkdeh ordinances were duly passed and
approved by the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas,
there waa levied an assessment in the sum of Fifty -eight and 28/100
Dollars (458.28) against tho property situated in the City of
Corpus Christi, fronting 50 feet on the west side of Niagara Street,
and described as follows:

and against the real and true owner thereof, named as follows:
H. B. Kuykandall,
and,
OMR7AAS, Said Special Assessment was evidenced by such
Assessment Certificate No, 59, issued by the City of Corpus Christi,
Texas, on the lot dW of April, 1947, and
WEEMS, The said Assessment Certificate together with
all interest thereon has bean fully paid off and satisfied and
at the time of its payment the City of Corpus Christi was the
owner and holder of said certificate and of all lions Securing its
psyment3
NOW, THEREFORE, The City of Corpus Christi, Terns, a
municipal corporation, for and in consideration of the payment
of Said Special Asset, does hereby HUMASS said property
fr m all liens securing the paymmt of said asasssmust and the
owner of such property from all personal liability created by the
issuance of said certificate and the other proceedings of said
City above referred to, and declare said Special Assessment fully
SATISFIKD AIM DISCHARCZD.

personally appeared W. B. Collier, the City Manager of the City,
of Corpus Christi, Texas, known to me to be the person whose
name is subscribed to the foregoing instrusent and acknowledged
to me that he executed the same for the � urpoaea and conside:re.-
tion therein expressed, in the capacity therton stated, and as
the act and deed of said City.

SECTICN II. The necessity of clearing the title of
the property involved creates a public emergency and imperative
public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule
that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the
date it is introduced and that such ordinance or resolution shall
be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the
Mayor, having declared that such emergency and imperative neces-
sity exist, requesting that said Charter rule be suspended and
that this ordinance be passed finally on the day it is introduced
and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after
its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED.

1950.

Gentlemen:
For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the fore-
going ordinance, a .public emergency and imperative necessity exist for
the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or
resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and
that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three meetings of the
City Council; I, therefore, hereby request that you suspend said Charter
rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is
introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
