HomeMy WebLinkAbout02830 ORD - 07/25/1950Ib:Singer:mer 7/25/50 (6) AN ORDINANCE INCREASING THE APPROPRIATION AUTHORIZED BY ORDINANCE NO. 2765, BY APPROPRIATING THE ADDITIONAL AIMUNT OF $440.62 FROM FUND N0. 298 CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI WAS"EICdPOIM IM- PROVEIM-AT FUND TO COVER THE EXCESS COST OF WATER DflPROVME ^'.T PROJECTS 207 AND 208, AND ALL PIPING NECESSARY IIIT SAID PROJECT TO CONNECT ALMATMA AND GOLLIHAR ROAD STORAGE TANES, AND SAID AItiOUNT OF $44o.62 IS HEREBY APPROPRIATED= AND DECLARING AN EPs..F,RGENCY. WHEREAS, by Ordinance No. 2765 there was appropriated Two Thousand and Eight Hundred Dollars (2,800.00) out of Fund No. 2,',8, City of Corpus Christi Waterworks Improvement Fund, to cover the cost of installation of all piping necessary 'Lo connect the Alameda and the Gollihar Road Storage Tanks and for additional pipe necessary to such installation; and 9QICREAS, due to the difficulty of obtaining material, it was necessary to procure the same in separate lots to speed the completion of said work; and WHEREAS, these two projects have been completed by City forces, and it has been determined that the final estimate of theme projects aggregates a total of Three Thousand Two Nundred and Forty Dollars and Sixty -two Cents 03,240.62); and Wfm REAS, said appropriation being insufficient to cover the coat of said piping, and installation, it is now necessary to make additional appropriation to cover this excess NOW, TBEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY T12 CITY COUNCIL OF THE, CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXASs MM y SECTION 1. There is hereby appropriated the sum of Four Hundred and Forty Dollars and Sixty -Two Cents (0440.62) from Fund No. 298, City of Corpus Christi Waterworks Improvement Fund to cover the excess cost of Water Improvement Projects 207 and 208, and all piping necessary in said project to connect Alameda and Gollihar Road Storage Tanks. SECTION 2. Said work of said projects having been completed, the fact that it is necessary to make such appropriation so that these projects may be finally concluded creates a public emergency and imperative publio necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shallbe passed finally on the date it is introduced and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three severml meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor, having declared that such emergency and necessity exist, requesting that said Charter rule be suspended and that this ordinance be passed finally on the day it is introduced and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED.
