AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER
FOR AND ON BEHALF.OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI TO EXECUTE A RELEASE OF SPECIAL
ASSESSMENT FOR STREET IMPROVEMENT AGAINST
THE PROPERTY FRONTING 135 FEET ON THE NORTH
SIDE OF CRAIG MUM AND BEING, LOT 8, BLOCS
1, . BAY VIEW ADDITION TO T HE CITY. AND THE
OMR3THEREOF, BYRON VESTAL AND WIFE,
MARGARET GRANT VESTAL, FOR AND IN CONSIDERA
TION OF THE PAYMENT OF SAID ASSESSMENT CER-
TIFICATE; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY CF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager for and on behalf
of the City of Corpus Christi be and he is hereby authorized
and directed to execute a release of special assessment for street
improvements against the property fronting 135 feet on the north
side of Craig Street and being Lot 8, Block 1, Bay View Addition
to the City and the owners thereof, Byron Vestal and wife, Margaret
Grant Vestal, for and in consideration of the payment of said
assessment certificate; a copy of which release is made a part
hereof and attached hereto, to -wit:

SECTION 2. The necessity of clearing the title of
the property involved creates a public emergency and impera-
tive public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter
rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally
on the date it is introduced and that such ordinance or reso-
lution shall be read at three several meetings of the City
Council, and the Mayor, having declared that such emergency and
imperative necessity exist, requesting that said Charter rule
be suspended and that this ordinance be passed finally on the
day it is introduced and take effect and be in full force and
a
effect from and after its passage. IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO
ORDAINED.

Gentlemen:
For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the fore-
going ordinance, a .public emergency and imperative necessity exist for
the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or
resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and
that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three meetings of the
City Council; I, therefore, hereby request that you suspend said Charter
rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is
introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
