AN ORDINANCE
RECEIVING INTO THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS,
PROPERTY ADJACENT TO THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
BEING ALL CF LOTS 16 AND A PART OF LOT 9 SECTION
"C" PAISLEY'S SUBDIVISION OF THE HOFFMAN TRACT,
NUECES COUNTY, TEXAS, AND FULLY DESCRIBING SAME
AS AN INTERGRAIL PART OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS. DEFINING ITS LIMITS AND DECLARING THE SAME
A PART OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, SUBJECT TO
THE CONDITIONS AND THE RULES, REGULATIONS, ORDIN-
ANCES, AND THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, The City of Corpus Christi did, on the 4 L yet'
day of July, A.D. 1950, enter into an agreement with C. A. Mansheim,
Trustee, sole owner of the property hereinafter described, to admit
said property into the City of Corpus Christi, and
WHEREAS, The express covenants contained in said agreement
have been complied with; and
WfE;REAS, There are no resident voters within said territory;
and
WHEREAS, Said property is adjacent to, and adjoins, the City
Limits of the City of Corpus Christi; and
WHEREAS, The City Council of the City, of Corpus Christi
deems it advisable and to the best interest of said City that the
following described property be admitted into the City of Corpus
Christi;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS;
SECTION 1. That the territory defined by metes and bounds,
as follows, to —wit;
BEGINNING At a point 20' northwest of and at
right angles to the center line of Kostoryz Road, and
180' in a south•.,�esterly direction along Kostoryz Road
from the centerline of Gollihar Road. Said point be-
ing situated in the southwesterly boundary of the city
limits of Corpus Christi, Texas,
THENCE S 28 deg. 32' 15" W with a line 20' from
and parallel to the centerline of Kostoryz Road, 815.7
feet, to a point for corner;
THENCE N 61 deg. 231 30" W 1300.00 feet to the
northwest corner of this tract;
THENCE S 28 deg. 211 W 324.13 feet to a
point in the northwest line of this tract;
THENCE S 28 deg. 40, W 1317.18 feet along
the northwest line to the southwest corner of
this tract;
THENCE s 61 deg. 271 15" E along the center
line of McArdle Road, 1306.85 feet, to a point,
151 northwest of, at right angles to the center
line of Kostoryz Road, for the southeast corner of
this tract;
THENCE N 28 deg. 321 15" E, along a line
151 northwest of and parallel to the centerline of
Kostoryz Road, 2455063 feet to the southwesterly
city limits line;
THENCE in a northwesterly direction with
the city limits line 5 feet to the PLACE OF BE-
GINNING,
being all of lots 16 and a part of Lot 9 Section "C" Paisley's Subdivi-
sion of the Hoffman Tract, Nueces County, Texas, and to be known as
Southside Addition, Unit 4, BE; AND THE SAME IS HEREBY, ADMITTED Into
the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, as an integral part thereof, and
said territory shall hereafter be a part of the City of Corpus Christi,
subject to the general laws of the State of Texas, the City Charter,
and the Ordinances, Resolutions, Motions, and Regulations of the City
of Corpus Christi. Such territory shall bear its proportionate share
of all taxds levied by the City, and its inhabitants shall have all the
Privileges and be subject to all the duties of other inhabitants of the
City of Corpus Christi.
SECTION 2. The fact that the owner of such territory desires
that the same be immediately incorporated within the limits of the City of
Corpus Christi, and the fact that it is imperative for the well-being of
the City of Corpus Christi that such territory be immediately incorporated
within said limits, creates an emergency and an imperative public neces.
sity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or
resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that
such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of
the City Council, and the Mayor, having declared such public emergency and
necessity to exist, requesting that said Charter rule be suspended and
that this ordinance be passed finally on the date it is introduced and
that this ordinance take effect and be in full force and effect from and
after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED.

Gentlemen:
For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the fore-
going ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for
the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or
resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and
that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three meetings of the
City Council; I, therefore, hereby 'request that you suspend said Charter
rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is
introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
