AIMING ORDINANCE N0. 760, KNOWN AS THE ZONING
ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, ADOPTED
ON THE 27TH DAY OF AUGUST, 1937 AND APPEARING OF
RECORD IN VOLUME 9, PAGES 565 ET SEQ OF THE ORDIN-
ANCE AND RESOLUTION RECORDS OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, AS AMENDED FROM TIME TO TIME TBEREAY TER,
AND.IN PARTICULAR AS AMENDED BY ORDINANCE N0. 2266,
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CORPUS CBRISTI ON THE 4TH DAY OF MAY, 1948,AND
APPEARING OF RECORD IN YOLU92.16, PAGES 339 ET SEQ

USE; KEEPING IN EFFECT ALL OTHER PROVISIONS.OF THE
EXISTING ORDINANES AS.AMENDED; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WBEREAS, The Zoning and Planning Commission of the City of Corpus
Christi, Texas, has recommended to the City Council of said City that it
is advisable to male the hereinafter set out changes in the present Zoning
Ordinance and Map of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas; and
WHEREAS, The City Council of the City of Corpus Christi at its
regular meeting held on the 23rd day of May, 1950, ordered a Public Hear-
ing to be held on the 155th day of June, A. D. 1950, at 2;00 P.M. in the
City Council Chamber at the City Hall in the City of Corpus Christi,
Texas,• and
WHEREAS, The City Council did nn the 15th day of June, 1950,
hold such hearing, where all interested citizens, property owners, and
other parties had the opportunity to be heard on the proposed amend-
meats, and that at such hearing all parties interested and wishing
to be heard mere heard:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
PITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the Zoning Ordinance and Map of the City
of Corpus Christi passed on the 27th day of August, 1937, appearing
of record in Volume 9, at pages 565 at seq of the Ordinance and
Resolution Records of the City of Corpus Christi, and as amended
from time to time thereafter, and in particular as amended by Ordin-
ance No. 2266 passed and approved by the City Council of said.City
on the lath day of May, 1948, and appearing of record in Volume 16,
Pages 339 at seq of said Ordinance and Resolution Records, BE ANNDED
in those particulars as set forth in the following sections Noss
2, 3, 4a 50 6, and 7, t owit :
SECTION 2. That the zoning of that tract of land described as
The West One -half (Wl/2) of Lots 3 through
13 inclusive of Block B, DIAZ ADDITION to
the City of Corpus Christi, Taxas,
be changed from present boning for A -2 Second Apartment House District
Use to A -3 Third Apartment House District use, and the same is here-
by rezoned.
SECTION 3. That the zoning of that tract of land described as
Lots 1, 2, and 3 of Block 2, EDGEVUTER
TERRACE ADDITION to the City of Corpus
Christi, Texas,
be changed from present zoning for B -1 Neighborhood Business District
use to B-3 Secondary Business District use, and the same is hereby re-
zoned.
SECTION 4. That the zoning of that tract of land described as

to the City of Corpus Christi. Texas,
be rezoned from present zoning for R -1 One Family DRelling District use
to A -1 First Apartment House District use, and the same is hereby rezoned.
SECTION 5. That the zoning of that tract of land described as
Lot 1. Block 1, EL REY ADDITION TO
the City of Corpus Christi, Texas,
be changed from present 18ning for B -1 One Family Dwelling District
use to B -1 Neighborhood Business District use, and the same is here-
by rezoned.
SECTION 6e That the zoning of that tract of land described as
Lots 16 and 17 of ANNIE BAGNALL
SUBDIVISION to the City of Corpus
Christi, Texas,
be changed from present zoning for A-2 Second Apartment House District
use to B-4 Primary Business District use, and the same is hereby re-
zoned.
SECTION 7. That the zoning of that tract of land described as
Bloo-k# 74, BLUFF ADDITION to the City
of Corpus Christi, Texas
be changed from present zoning for A-3 Third Apartment House District
use to B -4 Primary Business District use, and the same is hereby re-
zoned.
SECTION 6. That the official Zoning Map of the City of Corpus
Christi be and the same is hereby amended as herein ordained.
SECTION 9. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 10. That the said Zoning Ordinance and Map of the
City of Corpus Christi, approved on the lath day of May, 19h8s as
amended from time to time, except as herein changed shall remain in
full force and effect.
SECTION 11. That the fact that it is of the greatestpublic
importance to put in force immediately the changes in the Zoning
Ordinance and Map as hereinabove provided, for the purpose of pro-
viding for the orderly and progressive growth of the City, creates
a public emergency and imperative public necessity requiring the
suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall
be passed finally on the day it is introduced and that such ordinance
or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City
Council, and the Mayor, having declared that such emergency and im-
perative necessity exist, requesting that said City Charter rule be
suspended and that this ordinance take effect and be passed finally
on the day it is introduced and take effect and be in full force
and affect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAIN-
ED.

Gentlemen;
For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the fore-
going ordinance, a Public emergency and imperative necessity exist for
the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or
resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and
that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three meetings of the
City Council; I, therefore, hereby request that you suspend said Charter
rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is
introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
