AN ORDINANCE
APPROPRIATING THE AMODNP CF $4,500.00 FROM
NO. 296 IMPROVEMENT BONDS - 1950 CONSTRUC-
TION FUND (PARK IMPROVEMENTS) FOR THE CON-
STRUCTION OF A COMBINATION REST ROOM AND
TOOL ROOM IN COLE PARK, ACCORDING TO SPECI-
FICATIONS PREPARED BY RICHARD COLLEY, ARCHI=
TECT, UNDER THE SUPERVIZION OF THE DIRECTOR
OF PUBLIC WORKS; SAID WORK TO BE DONE BY CITY
FORCES; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, There is needed approximately $4,500.00 to
pay for the construction of a combination rest room and tool
room in Cole Park, specifications for which were prepared by
Richard Colley, architect, under the supervision of the Direc-
tor of Public Works; and
WHEREAS, There are sufficient funds available for
such construction cost in No. 296 Improvement Bonds - 1950
Construction Fund (Park Improvements); and
WHEREAS, It is contemplated that said work will be
done by City Forces;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION I. There is hereby appropriated the sum of
$4,500.00 from Fund No. 296 Improvement Bonds - 1950 Construc-
tion Fund (Park Improvements) for the construction of a com-
bination rest room and tool room in Cole Park, specifications
for which were prepared by Richard Colley, architect, under
the supervision of the Director of Public Works.
SECTION II. The Director of Public Works of the City
of Corpus Christi is hereby directed to proceed with the con -
atruction described in Section I hereof, said construction to
be done by City Forces.
SECTION III. The fact that it is necessary to commence
such work at once to relieve the existing conditions and to provide

adequate sanitary sewer maintenance to serve the citizens using
said Cole Park and to protect the health and general welfare
of the people of the City of Corpus Christi creates a public
emergency and imperative necessity requiring the suspension
of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be
passed finally on the date of its introduction and that such
ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings
of the City Council, and the Mayor, having declared that such
emergency and necessity exist, requesting that said Charter
rule be suspended and that this ordinance be passed finally
on the day it is introduced and that it take effect and be in
full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS,
ACCORDINGLY, SO ORDAINED.

Gentlemen:
For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the fore-
going ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for
the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or
resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and
that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three meetings of the
City Council; I, therefore, hereby request that you suspend said Charter
rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is
introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.

for the contract, agreement, obligation, or expenditure contemplated
in the above and foregoing Ordinance is in the Treasury of the City
of Corpus Christi to the credit of Fund No 296 IMPROVEMENT BONDS —
(PARK IMPROVEMENTS
1950 CONSTRUCTION FUND from which it is proposed to be drawn,
and such money is not appropriated for any other purpose.
