FOR SUCH INSTALLATION ORD THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATION AND CONTRACT DOCUMENTS WHICH ARE MADE A PART HEBECF BY REFERENCE; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, certain improvemients have been deemed to be necessary; and WHEREAS, There is needed the sum of $41,9141.00 for the installation of air conditioning equipment in the New City Hall Building on Shoreline Boulevard in the City of Corpus Christi, Texas; and WHEREAS, There is available in No. 296 Improvement Bonds 1950 Construction Fund (City Hall Building) the amount needed for said installation; and WHEREAS, Bids have been received, considered, and an award made for the most advantageous bid to the City of Corpus ' Christi, and it is now necessary to make such appropriation and to authorize the execution of a contrast in accordance with maid award; NON, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY Or CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS; SECTION 1. That there is hereby appropriated out of Fund No. 296 Improvement Bonds 1950 Construction Fund (City Hall Building) the sum of $41,9141.00, whisk amount is to be paid ac- cording to the terms of the contrast described in Section 2 here- of. SECTION 2. That the City Msnagcr is hereby authorized and directed to execute for and on behalf of the city of corpus Christi a contract for the installation of air conditioning equip- -1— 2-1-677 ment for the new City Hall Building on Shoreline Boa1ovard in the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, with Corpus Christi Plvmbw ing CompaTW, whisk contrast has been awarded said Corpus Christi Plumbing Company in accordance with plans and spesifleations and the contrast documents on file in the office of the City Secretary, all incorporated herein and made a part hereof by reference, and 4ecording to the bid of said Corpus Christi Plumbing Company, opened on September 19, 1950, said bid being the most advantageous and lowest to the City of Corpus Christi, Texas. SECTION 3. The necessity of making the aforesaid appropriation and to enter into the said contrast, in order to facilitate the completion of the now City Hall, creates a public emergency and imperative publia necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed and approved finally on the day it is introduced and that such ordinance or resolution shall be .read at three several meetings of the City Csunsil, and the Mayor, having do. olared such emergency and necessity to exi.at, requesting the sus_ pension of said Charter rale and that this ordinance be passed fine lly on the day it is introduced and take effect and be in full fares and Offset from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORD- INGLY SO ORDAINED.
