AN ORDINANCE
APPROPRIATING $634.18 FROM NO. 296 IMPROVEMENT
BONDS 1950 CONSTRUCTION FUND (STREET TRAFFIC
CONTROL SYSTEM) -WITH jNHICH TO PURCHASE A VACUUM
APPLICATOR FOR USE BY THE SIGN SHOP IN MAKING
TRAFFIC SIGNS AND THE APPLICATION OF SCOTCH -
1ITE MATERIAL FOR REFLECTORMATION OF SIGNS,
AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY,
BE IT ORDAINED BY TBE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY CF, CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS. '
SECTION 1. That there is hsreby appropriated $634.18
from Fund No. 296 Improvement Bonds 1950 Construction Fund (Street
Traffic Control System) with which to purchase a vagawn applica-
tor for use by the sign shop in making traffic signs and the appli-
cation of scotch -lit* material for reflectorization of signs.
SECTION 2. That the necessity for maintaining and
marking traffic signs on the streets of the City of Corpus Christi
in an effort to make pedestrian and vehicular use of said strsets
safer and more orderlp and to protect the health and safety of
the citizens Of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, creates a
public emergency and imperative public necessity requiring the
suspension of the Charter rule that nor ordinance or resolution
shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced and that
such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several mcst_
ings of the City Council, and the Mayor, declaring such emergency
and necessity to exist, having requested the suspension of said
Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the
day it is introduced and take effect and be in full fares and
effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED.

Gentlemen:
For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the fore-
going ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for
the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or
resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and
that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three meetings of the
City Council; I, therefore, hereby request that you suspend said Charter
rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is,
introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.

for the contract, agreement, obligation, or expenditure contemplated

of Corpus Christi to the credit of No. 296 IMPROVEMENT BONDS 1950
CONSTRUCTION FUND (STREET TRAFFIC CONTROL SYSTEM)
Fund from which it is proposed to be drawn, and such money is not
appropriated for any other purpose.
