AT FIFTEEN_ DOLLARS ($15) EACH F. 0. B. CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THEIR BID PROPOSAL OF MAY 16, 1950, A3 AMENDED JUNE 12, 1950, AND SAID CONTRACT DATED OCTOBER 2, 1950, WHICH CONTRACT IS ATTACHED HERETO AND MADE A PART HEREOF; AND DECLARING AN 12E RGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTICN 1. That the City Manager of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed for and on behalf of the City to execute a contract with Southwest Traffic Equipment Company of Teague, Texas, for the sale of fifty- seven (57) $arpark "Superior" Automatic Parking Meters at Fiftee* Dollars ($15) each F.O.B. The necessity for acquiring adequate parking meters in order to more adequately control traffic creates a public.:emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule providing that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor, declaring such emergency and necessity to exist, having requested the suspension of the said Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passages IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, PASSED AND APPROVED, This the ] 0 - day of Octoberx A.D. 1950. � i Alft�T THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS Ci y ' acre ary APP DYED AS TO LEGAL FORM, iy Corpus Christi, Texas JCz I 0 , 1950 TO THE IeFMERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL Corpus Christi, Texas Gentlemen: For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the fore- going ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution2 shall be read at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore, hereby request that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
