HomeMy WebLinkAbout02905 ORD - 10/17/19500%15/50: (5) AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $2500 FRX NO. 295 I19PROnXENT BONDS 19!18 CONSTRUCTION FUND ( PARK IMPROVEMENTS) TO BE USED TO PURCHASE AND IN- STALL APPROSIMATELY 1800 FEET OF V CAST IRON PIPE TO BE USED AS A FRESH WATER LINE FOR IRRIGATION PURPOSES AT THE OSO GOIF COURSE; SAID WORK OF INSTALLATION TO BE DONE WITH CITY FORCES, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY WHEREAS, There is needed $2500 for irrigation lines for the Oso Golf Course;, and WHEREAS, There are sufficient funds available for such park improvements in No. 295 Improvement Bonds 1948 Construction Fund (Permanent Park Improvements), and WHEREAS, It is contemplated that said work will be done by City forces: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. There is hereby appropriated the sum of Twenty —five Hundred Dollars ($2500) from Fund No. 295 Improvement Bonds 1948 Construction Fund (400mb Park Improvements) with which to purchase and install approximately 1800 feet of four inch (off) cast iron pipe to be used as a fresh water line for irrigation purposes at the Oso Golf Course, the work of said installation to be done by City Forces. SECTION 2. The necessity for said irrigation lines in order to properly maintain said golf course as permanent park improvements of the City of Corpus Christi creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor, having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, request- ing the suspension of said Charter rule and thas ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY 29'oS SO ORDAINED.
