HomeMy WebLinkAbout02910 ORD - 10/17/195010/17/50 (5) IM 3:nger;gp AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER OF THE CITY FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI TO EXECUTE A RELEASE OF SPECIAL ASSESSMENT COVERED BY CERTIFICATE N0. 42 dated DECEMBER 22, 1944, against THE PROPERTY FRONT- ING 111.06 FEET ON THE WEST SIDE OF SOUTH STAPLES STREET, BEING ALL OF LOT 4 EXCEPT THE WEST TEN (10) FEET OF LOT 4, BLOCK 1506, PORT APA SAS CLIFFS ADDITION TO THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI AND THE REAL AND TRUE 09NNERS THEREOF, FREDIA LIBERTY PATTEN MATHEWS ET V1R, FOR AND IN CONSIDERATION OF THE PRINCIPAL THEREOF PLUS INTEREST; AND DE- CLARING AN EMERGENCY• BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION I. That the City Manager, for and on behalf of the City of Corpus Christi, be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to execute a release of Special Assessment covered by Certificate Nos 42 dated December 22, 1944, against the property fronting 111.06 feet on the West side of South Staples Street, being all of Lot 4 except the West tan (10) feet thereof, Block 1506, PORT ARANSAS CLIFFS ADDITION to the City of Corpus Christi and the real and true owners thereof, FREDIA LIBERTY PATTEN MATHENNS ET VIR, for and in consideration of the principal thereof plus interest, a copy of which release is attached hereto and made a part hereof, reading as follows: - THE STATE CF TEXAS j IN0a ALL NEX BY THESE PRUNESt COUNTY or WECrs ! VMMAS, By virtue of an 0rdinance of the City of Corpus Christi, duly erlacted bg the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, on the 29th dap of August, 1944, as amended on the 22nd day of December., 1941., there was levied an assessment in the ante of Two Hundred Thirty and 62/100 Dollars (Z230.52) against the property situated in said City, fronting 111.06 feet on the West aide.of Swath Staples Street, and described as followst All of Lot 4, gxcept the nest ten (10) feet of Lot 4, Block 1506, FORT ARA_" "SAS CLIFFS ADiMON to the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, and against the real and true owners thereof, named as follower Fkad3a Liberty Patten N thews and husband, S. The necessity for clearing the title to the property involved creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordi- nance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its intro- duction and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor, declaring such emergency and necessity to exist, having requested the suspension of said Charter ritle,that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction, and that it take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY 50 ORDAINED.
