AN ORDINANCE
APPROPRIATING $7,706.32 FROM NO. 295 IMPROVE -
ONA 1i8 CONSTRUCTION FUND (SAAi�lCft�

FUND FOR EWER EXTENSIONS CONSTRUCTED BY
TOE CITY FORCES AS FOLLMS: PROJECT NO. 115:
HOUS LL LANE TO KOSTORYZ ROAD; PROJECT
No. 116t 3900 BLOCK f6RT AV II ; PRO .CT NO. 117:
DODDRIDGE - SANTA FE TO ALAMEDA STREET, IN AC-
CORDANCE WITH THE REQUEST FOR HEINBURSE ENT AT-
TACHED HERETO AND MADE A PART HEREOF; AND DECLAR-
ING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, Projects 115: Houston - Carroll Lane to Kostoryz Road;
116 - 3900 Block Port Avenue; and 117 - Doddridge Santa Fe to Alameda
Street, Sanitary Sewer Extensions, to serve said areas that were in
immediate need of sewers prior to the general contract for sewer ex-
tensions; have been completed by City Forces; and
WHEREAS, It is necessary to reimburse No. 109 Sewer Fund for
such sanitary sewer extensions in the amount of $7,706.32, which amount
is less than the amount would have been should these projects been cov-
ered by general contract; and
WHEREAS, There are sufficient funds in No. 295 Improvement
Bonds 1948 Construction Fund (Sanitary Sewer Improvements), which are
now unencumbered and which funds are available for this purpose:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL CF THE
CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That there is hereby appropriated Seven Thousand
Seven Hundred Six and 32/100 Dollars ($7,706.32) FROM N0. 295 I!d? m-
MENT BONDS 1948 CONSTRUCTION FUND (SANITARY SEWER IMPROVEMENTS) for
Sanitary Sewer Extensions constructed by the City Forces as follows:
Project No. 115, Houston - Carroll Lane to Kostorys Road; Project No.
716, 3900 Block Port Avenue; and Project No. 117, Doddridge c+ Santa
Fe to Alameda Street, in accordance with the request for reimburse -
meat attached hereto and made a part hereof, and said sum of Seven
Thousand Seven Hundred Six and 32/100 Dollars ($7,706.32) is hereby
transferred to No. 109 Sewer Fund to reimburse the same for said
sewer extensions as above stated.

SECTION 2. That the maintenance of adequate sanitary sewer
facilities is essential to the health and welfare of the citizens of
this City creates a public emergency and imperative public necessity
requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or
resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced and
that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several
meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor, declaring such emergency
and necessity to exist, having requested the suspension of said
Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date
it is introduced and that it take effect and be in full force and
effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED.

I certify to the City Council that the money required
for the contract, agreement, obligation, or expenditure contemplated
in the above and foregoing Ordinance is in the Treasury of the City
of Corpus Christi to the credit of No. 295 Improvement Bonds 19118
Construction Fund (Sanitary, Sewer Improvements)
Fund from which it is proposed to be drawn, and such money is not
appropriated for any other purpose.

Gentlemen:
For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the fore-
going ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for
the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or
resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and
that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three meetings of the
City Council; I, therefore, hereby request that you suspend said Charter
rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is
introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council,
