1950 CONSTRUCTION FUND (PARK IMPROVEMENTS), THE BAL-
ANCE TO BE PAID FROM No. 'M SEAWALL AND BREAKWATER
CONSTRUCTION FUND, ALL IN AC
PRIATION ORDINANCE, A COPY OF SUCH FINAL ESTIMATE
BEING ATTACHED HERETO AND MADE A PART HEREOF; AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXASi
SECTION 1. That the work of construction of street, sidewalk,
curb and water lines on the Peoples Street T-Head as performed by
Heldenfels Brothers, having been performed and completed in accordance
with the terms and govisions of the contract, plans, and specifica-
tions made and entered into by and between the City and said
Heldenfels Brothers on the 28th day of July, 1950s as authorized by
Ordinance No. 2825, and the Director of Public Works having inspect.
ad the same and certified to the completion of said work in accord-
ance with such plans and specifications, the work aforesaid is here-
by found to have been completed in accordance with the plans and
specifications and is here and now accepted and received by the
City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas.
SECTION 2. That final payment due under the contract
and as set out in the final estimate attached hereto and made a
part hereof, prepared by the Director of Public Works and dated
December 12, 7950, in the amount of $5,751.32 be made in accordance
With the appropriation ordinance mentioned in Section 1 hereof,
$805.78 to be paid from No, 296 Improvement Bonds 1950 Construc-
tion Fund (Park Improvements), and the balance of $4,945.54 from
No, 258 Seawall and Breakwater Construction Fund,
SECTION 3. That the necessity of completing such project
by acceptance of said work and final payment, such project having
been previously authorized by said Ordinance No. 2825, creates a
public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the
suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution
shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that
such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meet -
ings'of the City Council, and the Mayor, having declared such
emergency and necessity to exist, having requested the suspension
of said Charter rule and that this ordinance shal be passed finally
on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full
force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY
ORDAINED.

Gentlemen:
For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the fore-
going ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for
the auspeneion of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or
resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and
that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at.three meetings of the
City Council; I, therefore, hereby request that you suspend said Chaster
rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is
introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
