AS AMENDED; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, The Zoning and Planning Commission of the City of Corpus
Christi, Texas, has recommended to the City Council of said City that
it is advisable to make the hereinafter set out changes in the present
Zoning Ordinance and Map of the City of Corpus Christi; SAVE AND EXCEPT
The application for the rezoning of Lots 39 and 20, Block 4, BAY VIEW .
ADDITION No. 2, to the City of Corpus Christi, which application was
recommended for denial, but which application was approved by the
City Council after due discussion; and
WHEREAS, The City Council of the City of Corpus Christi at its
regular meeting held on the 26th day of September, 1950, ordered a
Public Hearing to be held on the 26th day of October, 1950s at 2:00
oIclock P.M. in the City Council Chamber at the City Hall in the City
'of Corpus Christi, Texas; and
WHEREAS, The City Council did on the 26th day of October, 1950s
hold such hearing, and on subsequent dates held pursuant hearings,
at which all interested citizens, property owners, and other parties
had the opportunity to be heard on the proposed amendments, and that
at such hearing, and hearings, all parties interested and wishing to
be heard were heard:
NON, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the Zoning Ordinance and Map of the
City of Corpus Christi, passed on the 27th day of August, 1937, ap-
pearing of record in Volume 9, at pages 565 at seq of the Ordinance
and Resolution Records of the City of Corpus Chriti, and as amended
from time to time thereafter, and in particular as amended by Ordi-
nance No. 2266, passed aadapproved by the City Council of said City
on the 4th day of MaY, 1940, and appearing of record in Volume 16.

THE SAME IS HEREBY EWMED IN Those particulars appearing herein.
SECTION 2. That the zoning of that tract of land describ-
ed as
Lots 19 and 20, Block 4, BAY 9IEW ADDITION NO. 2
to the City of Corpus Christi, Texas,
be changed from the present zoning for R-2. Two Family Dwelling
District use to B-1, Neighborhood Business District use, and the same
is hereby rezoned. '
SECTION 3. That the zoning of that tract of land describ-
ed as
Lots 1 and 23 Block 6. Lots 5 and 6, Block 5;
Lots 1 and 2. Block 7; and Lots 5 and 6, Block
8, MITCHELL AND MORRIS ADDITION to the City of
Corpua Christi, Texas .
be changed from the present zoning for A -3, Third Apartment House
District use to B-4, primary Business District use, and the same is
herebyrezoned.
SECTION l;. That the zoning of that tract of land de-
scribed as
Lot 1, Block 2, Loma Alta Addition to the City
of Corpus Christi, Texas,
be changed from the present zoning for A -23 Second Apartment House
District use to B-1, Neighborhood Business District use, and the same '
is hereby rezoned.
SECTION 5. That the Zoning of that tract of land de-
scribed as

lots 1 through 8, and 10 through 12, Block C,
REYNOLDS ADDITION to the City of Corpus Christi,
Texas,
be changed from the present zoning for R-1, One Family Dwelling Dis-
trict use to R -2, Two Family Dwelling District use, and the same is
hereby rezoned.
SECTION 6. That the Zoning of that tract of land de-
scribed as
Lots 7, 8, and 9, Block 6, Hampton Addition;
Lots 10, 11 and 12, Block 6, Hampton Addition;
the south 150 feet of the Mushmy 0rinnaee Merri-
man Tract; Lots U, 12, 13, and 14 Block 22 Shannon

SECTION 7. That the Zoning of that tract of land de-

of the intersection of Gollihar Road and Webber
Road extending 339 feat along Weber Road and 180
feet in depth along Gollihar Road, and further
described as Lot 1, Block 6 of the-presently un-
recorded plat of Parkside Subdivision of the City
of Corpus Christi, Texas,
be changed from the present zoning for R -1, One Family Dwelling Dia-
trict use to B-1, Neighborhood Business District use, and the same
is hereby rezoned.
SECTION 8. That the Zoning of that tract of land de-
scribed as

be changed from the present zoning for R -1, One Family Dwelling

SECTION 104 That the Zoning of that tract of land de-

corner of Port Avenue and Horne Road and-also the
balance of the area along both sides of Horne

be changed from present zoning for A-2, Second Apartment House Dis-

SECTION 139 That the zoning of that tract of land describ-

SECTION 16 That the zoning of that tract of land describ-

SECTION 15. That the zoning of that tract of land describ-

250 feet south of the south line of the Park
Avenue extension running from West Shoreline
Boulevard to Water Street, in the City of Corpus
Christi, Texas
be changed from present zoning for A -2, Second Apartment House District
use to B-4, Primary Business District use, and the same is hereby re-
zoned,
SECTION 16, That the official Zoning Map of the City
Of Corpus Christi be and the same is hereby amended as herein ordained,
SECTION 17. That the said Zoning Ordinance and Map of
the City of Corpus Christi, approved on the 4th day of May, 1948, as
amended from time to time, except as herein changed shall remain in
full force and affect.
SECTION 18. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances
in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 19. That the necessity of providing for the
orderly and progressive growth of the City by the immediate enforce-
ment of the aforesaid changes in the Zoning Ordinance and Map creates
a public emergency sod an imperative public necessity requiring the
suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall
be passed finally on the date it is introduced and that such ordinance
or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City
Council, and the May6r, having declared such emergency and necessity
to exist, having requested that said Charter rule be'suspended and
that this ordinance take effect and be passed finally on the date of
its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from

Gentlemen:
For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the fore-
going ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for
the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or
" resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and
that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at•three meetings of the
City Council; I, therefore, hereby request that you suspend said Charter
rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is
introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
