AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY 14AMGER FOR AND
ON HERAT OF THE CITY CF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS TO
EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH E. EISENBAUER FOR THE EREC-
TION OF A FIRE STATION AT THE INTERSECTION OF DODD-
RIDGE AND SOUTH S'APLFS STREETS; APPROPRIATING
471,000.00 FROli N0. 296 IMPROMENNT BOND 1950 CON -
STRUCTION FUND (FIRE STATION) TO BE PAID IN CON-
SIDERATION OF CONTRACT; AND DECLARING AN EHERGENCY.
TEXAS: HE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
SECTION 1. That the City Manager for and on behalf of the
City of Corpus Christi be authorized and directed to execute a contract
with E. Eisenhauer for the erection of a fire station at the intersection
of Doddridge and South Staples Streets, a copy of which contract is filed
in the City Secretary's office and made a part hereof by reference. '
SECTION 2. That for such erection there is hereby appro-
priated Seventy -One Thousand Dollars %71,000.00) from No. 296 Improvement
Bond 1950 Construction Fund (Fire Station) to be paid in consideration of
contract.
SECTION 3. That thenecessity for providing additional fire
protection in the southeast section of the City creates a public emergency and .
an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule
providing that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date
of its introduction and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at
three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor, having declared such
emergency and necessity to exist, having requested that such Charter rule
be suspended and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its
introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after
its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED.

Gentlemen:
For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the fore-
going ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for
the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or
resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and
that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at.three meetings of the
City Council; I, therefore, hereby request that you suspend said Charter
rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is
introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.

in the above and foregoing Ordinance is in the Treasury of the City
of Corpus Christi to the credit of No. 296 IMPROVEMENT BOND 1950
CONSTRUCTION FUND (FIRE STATION)
Fund from which it is proposed to be drawn, and such money is not
appropriated for any other purpose.
