APPROPRIATING $700 FROM NO. 258 SEAWALL AND BREMATER
CONSTRUCTION FUND FOR THE INSTALLATION OF MOORING BITS
ON THE T -HEAD AT THE END OF LAWRENCE STREET IN THE CITY'
OF CORPUS CHRISTI IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE ESTIMATE WHICH
IS A PART HEREOF AND ATTACHED HERETO; AND DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY,
WHEREAS, The contemplated improvements will assist in the
protection of the Seawall and Breakwater of the City of Corpus
Christi from the elements and in times of hurricanes, such improv-
ments being a part of the Seawall and Storm Protection Improve-
ments of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEAS:
SECTION 1. That there is hereby appropriated out of No. 258
Seawall and Breakwater construction Fund the sum of $700 for the
installation of mooring bits on the T -Head at the end of Lawrence
Street in the City of Corpus Christi, in accordance with the at-
tached estimate, which is made a part hereofs, to be paid on par.
chase orders to be issued for the installation of this work as ma-
terials are received and installations made* _
SECTION 2. The necessity from time to time to rehabilitate
existing improvements on the Seawall and Breakwater and to take pro-
tective measures to protect same from the elements as a part of the
Seawall and Storm Protection Improvements of the City of Corpus
Christi creates a public emergency and an imperative public neces-
sity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule providing that
no ordinance or resolution shall be passed on the date of its in-
troduction and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at
three several meetings of the City Councilp and the Mayor, declar.
ing such emergency and necessity to exists having requested that
such Charter rule be suspended and that this ordinance be passed
on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full
force and effect from and after the date of its passage, IT IS AC-
COBDINAGLY SO ORDAINED.

MOORING BITS ON THE LAWRENCE
STREET T -HEAD
The 16 Mooring bits shall be 24 -inch galvanized bits
fastened by means of two 7/8 -inch bolts to concrete blocks
121 x 31 x 221 in the locations designated by the Harbormaster
on the Lawrence Street T -Head.

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the fore.
going ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for
the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or
resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and
that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at.three meetings of the
City Council; I, therefore, hereby request that you suspend said Charter
rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is
introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
