AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER FOR AND ON
BEHALF OF THE CITY To EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH ASSOCIATED
AVIATION UNDERWRITERS FOR AN INSURANCE MACHINE AT THE
MUNICIPAL AIRPORT FOR THE TERM OF ONE YEAR FROM TEE lat
DAY OF SEPTEMBER., 1950, ACCORDING TO THE TERMS AAD CONDI-
TIONS SET FORTH IN SUCH CONTRACT, A COPY OF WHICH IS AT-
TACHED HERETO AND Made A PART HERECF, FOR THE CONSIIERA-
TION OF SEVEN AND ONE -HALF PERCENTUM OF TEE NET RECEIPTS
OR TWELVE DOLLARS PER MONTH EACH MACHINE; AND DECLARING
AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY CF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEYAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, author.
ised and directed for and on behalf of the City to execute a contract
with Associated Aviation Underariters for an insurance machine or
machines at the Municipal Airport for the term of one year from the
1st day of September, 3950, for the consideration of seven and one-
half percentum of the net receipts or twelve dollars per month each-
machine payable as set out in said contract, according to the terms
and conditions contained in such contract, a copy of which is at-
tached hereto and made a part hereof, reading as follows:

SECTION 2. The necessity of providing necessary facilities
relative to the operation of the Municipal Airport and to derive
revenue for the maintenance of said premises creates a public em-
ergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension
of the Charter rule providing that no ordinance or resolution shall
be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that such ordi-
nance and resolution shall be read at-three several meetings of the
City Council, the Mayor having requested, declaring such emergency
and necessity to exist, such Charter rule be suspended and that this
ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take
effect and be in full force and effect from and after the date of its
introduction asdpassage, IT TS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED.

Gentlemen:
For the reasons set Forth in the emergency clause of the Fore-
going ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for
the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or
resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and
that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three meetings of the
City Council, I, therefore, hereby request that you suspend said Charter
rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is
introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.

THIS CONTRACT made and entered into this 1st day of September, 1950, by and
between * * * * * * * * * * x * CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI * * * #.* ,* * * * * * #
hereinafter called the Airport Operator and ASSOCIATED AVIATION UNDERWRITERS,
an association of insurance companies having its principal place of business
at 90 John Street, New York 7, New York, hereinafter called Associated Aviation.
WITNESSETH:
I. In consideration of the covenants, agreements and obligations hereinafter
set forth, the Airport Operator does grant unto Associated Aviation the ex-
clusive right, privilege and ooncession,for installing, operating, servicing
and maintaining either itself or through any designated agent acting for it
Airline Trip Insurance dispensing machines in such numbers and at such loca-
tions on the airport premises as may be mutually agreeable.
2. Associated Aviation agrees to hold the Airport Operator harmless in connec-
tion with said installation, operation, service and maintenance of such Airline
Trip Insurance dispensing machines.
3. The Airport Operator agrees to perform normal custodial duties including
the dusting of and around each machine, the removing of any trash deposited
thereon and the taking of reasonable precautions to prevent such machines from
being tampered with, damaged, destroyed or marred but shall not be liable for
any damage to such machine not caused by its own negligence.
4. Associated Aviation agrees to pay to the Airport Operator during the period
of this contract rental either in an amount equal to seven and one -half percen-
tum of all monies deposited in all such Airline Trip Insurance dispensing ma-
chines which are in active operation at or on the said premises, less only
bonafide refunds, or in the sum of Twelve Dollars ($12.00) per month per each
machine whichever shall be the greater; it being agreed that such payments be
computed on the basis of Ten Dollars ($10.00) to cover rental and Two Dollars
($2.00) to cover any and all costs of electrical current consumed.
5. Payments referred to in Paragraph 4 above shall be computed monthly and==
check to cover, together with an explanatory statement, shall be forwarded to
the Airport Operator prior to the 15th day of the second month succeeding the
month of account.

6. This contract shall be for a term of ZIM years and )6h�call be automatically
renewed on the same terms for an additional period of /� years unless either
party shall give written notice to the contrary 30 days prior to the expiration
of the contract period. This contract shall supersede any previous agreements.
IN WITNESS WHEREOI' the parties hereto have caused this contract to be executed
