AN ORDINANCE
RECEDM40 AND ACCEPTING THE WORK OF CONSTRUCTION OF SALT FLATS

IZING PAYMENT OF FINAL. ESTIMATE, A COPY CF WHICH IS ATTACHED
HERETO AND MADE A PART HEREOF, DATED DECEMBER 31, 1950, in THE
AMOUNT OF $7,551.20 TO BE PAID OUT OF NO. 295 IMPROVEMENT BONDS
3.948 CONSTRUCTION FUND (STORM SEW IMPROVEMENTS) IN ACCORDANCE
WITH THE APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEBA9t
SECTION 1. That the work of construction of Salt Flats Storm Sewer
performed by T. H. Lee Contractor, under his contract with the City, haw
ing been performed and completed in accordance with the terms and provi-
sions of the contract and the plans and specifications therein contained,
said contract having been entered into on the 19th day of October, 1950s
as authorized by Ordinance No. 2907, and the Director of Public Works hav-
ing inspected the same and certified to the completion of said work in ac-
cordance with said plans and specifications, and said work aforesaid is
hereby found to have been completed in accordance with the plans and speci-
fications and is here now accepted and received by the City Council of the
City of Corpus Christi, Texas.
SECTION 2, That final payment due under the contract and as set
out in the final estimate attached hereto and made a part hereof, prepar-
ed by the Director of Public Works dated December 31, 3950, in the sum of
57,551.20 be made from No, 295 Improvement Bonds 3948 Construction Fund
(Storm Sewer Improvements) in accordance with the appropriation ordinance,
SECTION 3. That the necessity for completion of such storm drain-
age improvements in Salt Flats area of the City of Corpus Christi by such
acceptance and final payment creates a public emergency and an imperative
public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule providing
that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is
introduced and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three
several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor, having declared that
such emergency and necessity exist, requesting that such Charter rule be
suspended and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its
introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and
after its passage, IT IS ACCOEDINGM SO.ORDAINED•

For the reasons set forth in the emergency olause of the fore-
going ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for
the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or
resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and
that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at .three meetings of the
City Council; I, therefore, hereby request that you suspend said Charter
rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is
introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
