OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXA.Sj AUTHORIZING ?ABC= OF
FINAL ESTIMATE, DATED JANUARY 22, 1951, IN THE AmuNT
OF $46,475.38 TO BE PAID OUT OF NO. 299 IMPROVEMENT
BONDS 1950 CONSTRUCTION FUND (SANITARY SEWER IMPROVE -
MENTS), A COPY OR WHICH ESTMATE IS ATTACHED HERETO
AND MADE A PART HEREOF, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the work of construction of sanitary sewer
main and lateral extensions along South Staples Street, Carrol Lane
Park, Kathrun Carrol Subdivision, Sara Gocher Subdivision, Bellview
Addition, Houston Street, Newton Street, Home Road, Kostoryz Road,
Gollihar Road, Cottage Street, Hollywood Terrace, Port Avenue, Dyers
Street, Florence Street, Edgewater Terrace, and the 3400 Block of
Alameda in the City of Corpus Christi, performed by T. H. Lee, Can-
tractor, under his contract with the City and as authorized by ordi-
nance No. 2841, having been performed and completed in accordance
with the terms and provisions of the contract, plans and specifica-
tions, and the amendment thereto on file in the Office of the City
Secretary, which IE ",amendment is hereby approved, and the Director
of Public Works having inspected the same and certified to the com-
pletion of said work in accordance with said plans and specifica-
tions and said amendment thereto, the work aforesaid is hereby found
to have been completed in accordance with the plans and specifica-
tions and said contract dated August 8, 1950, and said amendment to
such contract documents, plans and specifications, and is here and
now accepted) and received by the City Council of the City of Corpus
Christi, Texas.
SECTION 2. That final payment due under the aforemention-
ed contract as set out in the final estimate dated January 22, 1951,
prepared by the Director of public Works and in the sum of $46,475.38
be paid from No. 299 Improvement Bonds 1950 Construction Find (Sani-
tary Sewer Improvements) as authorized by the said appropriation
ordinance, a copy of which final estimate is attached hereto and
made a part hereof.
SECTION 3. The necessity for the completion of said
project by such acceptance and final pwment, such project be-
ing necessary to the general welfare and health of the general
public in that it provides additional and needed sanitary newer
facilities in the City of Corpus Christi, creates a public em-
ergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspen-
sion of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall
be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that such
ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings
of the City Council, and the Mayor, having declared such emerg.
ency and necessity to exist, having requested the suspension of
said Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on
the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force
and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO OR-
PASSED AND APPROVED This the 30 day of January, 19$1

Gentlemen:
For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the fore-
going ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for
the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or
resolution shell be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and
that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three meetings of the
City Council; I, therefore, hereby request that you suspend said Charter
rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is
introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
