WHEREAS, The territory described in Ordinance No, 2919 and entitled: "AN ORDINANCE BY THE GC TY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, RECEIVING AND ANNEXING INTO THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, CERTAIN ADDITIONAL TERRITORY GENERALLY DESCRIBED AS BEING THAT TERRITORY LYING BE- TWEEN THE PRESENT CITY LIMITS LINE, WHICH IS 180 FEET SOUTHWEST OF THE CENTERLINE OF GOLLIHAR BDAD AND HOLLEY STREET AND HOLLEY STREETS SOUTHEASTERLY EXTENSION, ACA BETWEEN CHAPMAN RANCH ROAD AND WEBER ROAD, EXPENDING 180 FEET SOUTHWEST OF THE CEN MINE OF CHAPALIN RANCH ROAD AND 180 FEET SOUTHEAST OFF THE CENTERLINE OF WEBER ROAD, AND ALSO INCLUDING AN 80 ACRE TRACT CONSISTING OF SOUTH- . ", adopted on the 31st day of October, 195C, by the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, erroneously contained a description to include the territory lying west of the center line of Avenue "F" which was the City Limits line prior to the adoption of said Ordinance No. 2919, and extending westward and northward to the shoreline of -L- `111 Nueces Bay, which territory so erroneously included was included by oversight and was not intended to be included in said annexa- tion ordinance; and WHEREAS, It is necessary to correct of record the erroneous description contained in said Ordinance No. 2919t NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That Section of of said Ordinance adopted on October 313 1950, known as Ordinance 2919, entitled: "AN ORDINANCE BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, RECEIVING INTO AND ANNEX- ING TO THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, CERTAIN ADDITIONAL TERRITORY GENERALLY DESCRIBED AS BEING THAT TERRITORY LYING BETWEEN MM PRESENT CITY LIMITS LINE, WHICH IS 180 FEET SOUTHWEST OF THE CENTERLINE OF GOLLIHAR ROAD AND HOLLEY STREET AND HOLLEY STREETIS SOUTHEASTERLY EXTENSION, AND BETWEEN-CRAPEM RANCH ROAD AND WEBER ROAD, EXTENDING 180 FEET SOUTHWEST OF THE CENTERLINE OF CHAPMAN RANCH ROAD AND 180 FEET SOUTHEAST OF THE CENTERLINE OF WEBER ROAD, AND ALSO INCLUDING AN 80 ACRE TRACT CONSISTING OF SOUTHLAND ESTATES AND MORAVIAN VIU AGE, LYING ADJACENT TO AND NORTHWEST OF %OSTORYZ ROAD AND ADJACENT TO AND SOUTH - WEST OF HOLLEY STREET AND AN AREA IN CORPUS CHRISTI AND NUECES BAYS; FULLY DESCRIBING SAID TERRITORY AS AN INTEGRAL PART OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, AND DEFINING ITS LIMITS; AND DECLARING SAME AS ANNEXED TO AND HARE A PART OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS; AND TCLARING Ali E!'EHGENCY. BE AMENDED SO AS To hereafter read as follows, to -wit: "SECTION 1. That the territory hereinafter defined and described by metes and bounds as follows: BEGINNING At a point in the present City Limits line, said point being on the south edge of the south abutment of the draw span of the Nueces Bay Causeway on State Highway No. 16; THENCE due east with the present City Limits line parallel to the original northern City limits line as sur- veyed by C. F. H. v. Blucher in August, 1883, to its in- ` tersection with the original east City Limits line extend- ed; THENCE South with the present City Limits line to the southeast corner of the original City Limits line as surveyed by C. F. H. v. Blucher in August, 1883; THENCE in a southeasterly direction to a point that is due north one mile from the most easterly point of the west shoreline of Oso Creek at mean law tide; THENCE south with the present City Limits line one mile to the most easterly point of the west shoreline of Oso Creek at mean low tide, same being the intersection of the west shoreline of Oso Creek and the westerly shore- line of Corpus Christi Bay; THENCE in a southeasterly direction with the shoreline of Corpus Christi Bay to its intersection with the southeast line of State Lease No. 78; THENCE northeasterl7yy with the southeast line of state Leases Nos, 78, 67, 66, 51, 50, 33, 475, 45o, 447, 420 and 417 to the northeast corner of State Lease No. 417; THENCE northwest along the northeast line of State Lease No. 417 to its intersection with the shoreline of Corpus Christi Bay; THENCE northwesterly, along and with the shore- line of Corpus Christi Bay to the most northerly corner of State Lease No. 12; THENCE southeast with the northeast line of State Lease No. 12 to its most easterly corner; THENCE southwest on a direct line of the most easterly corner of State Lease No. 41; THENCE northwest along the northeast lize of State Lease No. 41 to its intersection with the shoreline of Corpus Christi Bay; THENCE Southwesterly, westerly, northwesterly along and with the shoreline of Corpus Christi and Nueces Bays to its intersection with the southeast corner of State Survey No. 753, THENCE north with the east lines of State Sun - (/ veys Nos. 753 and 751 to the shoreline of Nueces Bay; THENCE in a westerly direction with the shore- line of Nueces Bap to the northeast corner of State - Survey No. 686; THENCE south with the east line of State Survey No. 686 to the southeast corner of said survey; THENCE "at along with the south line of State Survey No. 686 to a point being a northward extension of the east line of State Survey No. 939; THENCE south, crossing State Survey No. 688 with the northward extension of State Survey No. 939, and continuing on with the east line of State Survey No. 939 to its; intersection with the north line of the Nueces County Navigation District lands; THENCE east with the north boundary line of the Navigation District lands to the southeast corner of State Survey No. 708 as shown on the General Land Office Map of submerged lands, Nueces Bay and adjoin- ing areas, dated October 15, 1946, said point being a point on the Shoreline of Nueces Bay, THENCE along the meanders of Nueces Bap to the City Limits line as it existed prior to October 31, 1950, said point being a point on the center line of Avenue "Flt and the extension of said Avenue mF"; THENCE with said City Limit's,line and the center line of Avenue :"B "`gxtension to a point which bears north 32 degrees East 700 feet from the center line of 34M Street, Brooklyn Subdivision; THENCE in a southeasterly direction with the present City Limits line to a point on the south edge of the south abutment of the draw span of the Nueces Bay Cause- way on State Highway No. 16 and the PLACE OF BEGINNING. BEGINNING at a point 180 feet northwest of the inter - seAton o£ the centerline of Ayers Street and the present City Limits line, same being 180 feet south of the centerline of Gollihar Road; THENCE southwest parallel to and 180 feet north- west of the centerline of Ayers Street to a point in the northeast line of Lot 3, Section 4, Bohemian Colony Lands; THENCE southeast, crossing Ayers Street at right angles, continuing on with the northeast line of Lot 61 Section 3, Bohemian Colony Lands to the most northern corner of Southland Estates Subdivision; THENCE southwest to the most westerly corner of Southland Estates Subdivision; THENCE southeast along the southwest line of Southland Estates Subdivision and the Moravian village Subdivision and its southeasterly extension to a point 180 feet southeast of the centerline of Kostoryz Road; THENCE northeast with a line 180 feet southeast of and parallel to the centerline of Kostoryz Road to a point in the northeast line of Lot 6. Street to to the place of beginning be and the same is annexed to the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, and is received into said City, and is included within the terri- torial limits of said City as an integral part thereof, and that said territory shall hereinafter be a part of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, and shall be subject to the general laws of the State of Texas, the City Charter of said City and the ordinances, resolutions and laws of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, to all intents and purposes as the present City of Corpus Christi, and subject to all the same rights, privileges and burdens them- of.. SECTION 2. That said Ordinance No. 2919, passed and approved by the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi on the 31st day of October, 19$0, SAVE AND EXCEPT as herein cor- rected, be and the same is hereby confirmed and continued in full force and effect. SECTION 3. That the fact that it is necessary to cor- rect as a matter of record the boundaries of the City of Corpus Christi from the erroneous description of said limits contained in said Ordinance No. 2919 creates a public emergency and an im- perative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter role that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date that it is introduced and that such ordinance or resolu- tion shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor, declaring such emergency and necessity to exist, having requested that said Charter rule be suspended and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after :I its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED.
